What a change in board opinion about Ewers in 3 months and 5 days.

I had high hopes for Quinn after the Bama and OU games in year one, but by the end of 2024 his limitations had been made very clear.

NFL teams love the idea of a good QB on a rookie contract and maybe that gets him over drafted. He does have an arm that gives him more upside than some others, but IMO there is a ton of development needed to be a legit NFL starter.

I wish Quinn well.  To me, as a Texas fan, his job was to win a lot of Longhorn games, which he did.

For sure. I mean it's not easy to be an NFL starter. Even our legendary QBs haven't been able to make that work.

Quinn was a great player for us and personally I put him on the Sam Ehlinger / Chris Simms / Major Applewhite tier of the pyramid a step below Colt.

I think Quinn we be a multi year NFL starter. If I’m wrong I’m wrong. Does he need to improve his reads and pocket presence, yes, but he has a lot of other elite traits. There are 32 NFL teams, very few of which have a solidified starter for the next two years. The Browns, Titans, Giants, Steelers, Saints, Rams, Jets, Raiders, Seahawks, & Colts are all in need of a QB this year or next.

I would slot Quinn 3rd for QBs this year. In the 2026 draft your elite guys right now are Drew Allan, LaNorris Sellers, Garrett Nussmeier & Kade Klubnik. So given the demand for Qbs I would assume someone drafts Quinn in the 2nd or 3rd and he will get the opportunity to be the man at some point over the next three years. There are multiple guys starting in the league that have more issues than Quinn in my opinion.

Yep, it was only him and not the nearly 30 other guys Sarkisian has put into the NFL that played with Quinn.

It was the team . Quinn was the leader

Neil, Sark is the best . We are so fortunate to have him . I feel we were very fortunate to have Quinn also . Threw TD passes in 27 straight games .  Hopefully Arch will exceed Quinn’s accomplishments. I believe he will . But I will never diminish Quinn’s accomplishments in bringing our Longhorns back to prominence. I’m not a ESPN fan I’m a fan of The Texas Longhorns. “ Hookem “  I wish Quinn all the best.

VY went to two pro-bowls. You would most likely lose that bet.

We shall see but I'm not measuring much success on the farce that is pro bowls.

Pro bowls then are not what they are now. Vince was also rookie of the year. If Quinn becomes a meaningful starter that would be a win for his pro career. As of now he projects as career backup, which is a really good gig.

Projections. Nothing ever goes wrong with those

Yep. Two of my favorite college QBs of all time are Colt and Case. Each has made more than enough money for 2 lifetimes as a backup in the NFL.

So you think Quinn will be rookie of the year and a 3x pro bowler? Because that’s what it would take to have a better nfl career than Vince.

You have to wonder what kind of career Vince would have had if he was playing for anyone other than that petty, dipshit Jeff Fisher. He started off well enough.

Not true. Just because one doesn't win rookie of year doesn't mean it's a better career. Tom Brady didn't win it but VY did.

It is about sustained success for a long period of time. In total NFL career I think QE will have a better pro career than VY. Yes.

While Fisher was an idiot, VY lack of work ethic in the NFL played a huge part as well. It's a reality check he never adapted to. He could no longer just win based on his athletic ability alone

The Pro Bowl appearances have to be jaded somehow since his best passing year he had only 12 TDs with about a 51% completion percentage.  His highest yardage year was 2,546.  Three out of his 6 years he threw more interceptions than TDs and had more career interceptions than TDs. Of course, he was a pretty good runner but that was about it.  I had hoped he would have a good pro career, but it really was not.  However, that does not take away from his being one of the greatest Longhorns of all time.

All most stats than Quinn Ewers will achieve, thanks.

I'm not really comfortable even putting their names in the same sentence.

Wouldn’t Quinn’s being so likely to be a bust make him the exact opposite? As if it were to be expected. What a shitty list to make anyway. Don’t people have better things to do with their time. Oh wait…👀 … what am I doing here? Where is my beautiful wife?

What? He will throw more than 12 TDs, over 2,500 yards and have over 51% completion in a year. The hate blows my mind

You’re assuming he will start and produce when all indications from his scouting report and etc screams the opposite.

He needs 10,500 + total yards and 59 touchdowns to have a better career than Vince. He will also need a rookie of the year and multiple pro bowl appearances. Thats the facts.

ROY is the dumbest metric ever. Don't make me list all the QBs that didn't win it. By your logic none of them are better than VY.
