bierce Posted 21 hours ago Posted 21 hours ago Mack Brown doesn't get it. It's not about Belichick succeeding. It's about having Jordon Hudson around to be the face of the athletic department. 1 4 Quote

Always grateful for what Mack did to bring us back to national prominence and respectability. I grew up with the late 80’s and early 90’s Longhorns, which significantly impacts my perspective. 5 Quote

Agreed, but no one here seems to give him much “credit”, they just b$tch about his last 2 years whenever he comes up. One of which he played for a conference championship. And there’s the 10 years of 9+ winning seasons I guess. I’m grateful for him taking us out of the late 80s early 90s slump. 1 1 Quote

It’s because of recency bias, which is natural. If Mack rode off into the sunset without doing anything deemed negative or complaining, people would have remembered him for the great years that he brought. Instead, people remember him fighting his way out and allegedly sabotaging the program to not be able to hire Saban who won more championships at bama. 2 1 Quote

On offense: David Ash, Swoopes and Heard wasn’t a bad QB room before Ash’s injury. Malcolm Brown, Jonathan Gray and Joe Bergeron was one of our best RB rooms until recently (before Strong kicked JB off the team). Jaxon Shipley, John Harris and Marcus Johnson wasn’t a bad WR corps and Geoff Swaim is still a NFL TE. On defense, we had longterm NFL guys at every level: Malcom Brown, Hassan Ridgeway, Jordan Hicks, Quandre Diggs, Mykelle Thompson. 1 1 Quote

Difference there is that OJ is a murderer and Mack Brown is a very good man by literally every account of people who actually know him, including hundreds to thousands of players. CHorn427 Posted 17 hours ago Posted 17 hours ago (edited) Note: as a HC, Belichick never won one playoff game or even a division championship without Brady as his starting QB. 2 winning seasons in 29 years without Brady. Edited 17 hours ago by CHorn427 Quote

Bias much? Belichick was not a head coach for 29 years without Tom Brady. That's a bullshit statement. Belichick was only a NFL head coach for a TOTAL of 29 years, and 20 of them were with the Patriots coming while Tom Brady was also there. So, Belichick and Brady were together for 20 of Belichick's 29 years as a head coach. He had a winning record in 2 of the remaining seasons (1-4 with the Browns and 1-3 with the Patriots). Not good, but not the incorrect BS you wrote. Edited 16 hours ago by southpaw Quote

Brady won without Belichick, Belichick did not win anything significant without Brady. Andy Reid is far and away the more accomplished HC in my eyes compared to Belichick. Quote

And zero division championships or playoff wins. Quote
