Agree with you about Smith, but Tate and Innis aren't on the same level as Egbuka, imo. He was a legit 1st round talent and a stud at WR with Smith. I don't recall Tate having a big game against us but I'd have to go and look it up. I think Texas needs to get pressure and rattle Sayin, get in his head. They'll also disguise how they take on Smith. I'm not worried tbh, I think it'll be a great game and exciting. Tons of NFL talent all over the field in this one. I am going off what I have read Re: Klare as he will suit up for OSU for the first time on 8/30 but he is being compared to Bowers and a first round pick. Only time will tell. That is an upgrade for OSU at the TE position which will benefit a young QB. Tate had 7 catches for 87 yards vs Texas, he is also projected as a first round pick. Innis is new as a starter but was a 5 star recruit and the # 3 ranked receiver nationally. I think Hartline does as good aa job as anyone developing receivers at OSU to make it to the NFL. You are 100% correct Texas needs to make Sayin uncomfortable, Texas Edge rush is what worries me with our Tackles both new starters. Going to be a great environment. Frankly one of the best games I have ever been to at the shoe was 2005 when Young hit Limas Sweed at the end of the game to beat us. I have never heard the stadium that loud. That was a night game so the fans had all day and were pretty juiced. 3 Quote

Either way, we'll definitely have our hands full. Will really test the communication and skill of the secondary. Good thing is, all of them are 3+ year guys now. That helps a lot and having been in the same system. Should be a fun battle. If the pass rush can get home and rattle Sayin, will be a long day for the Ohio State O. I'm kinda disappointed it's not a night game but it'll still be awesome to see our Longhorns go in there and battle hard. Quote
Here for the Wins Posted 2 hours ago Posted 2 hours ago Bowers was a top 100 recruit. Caught double digit TD passes as a freshman. He had 3 seasons with as many catches as Klares best to date. 26 TDs to 4 TDs. Bowers reported a 4.5 40, 40 inch vertical. I did not find either for the top 1,200 recruit Klare. Bowers is rare. Of all the good TEs in the NFL, I’m not sure he has a comp. Quote

Of all the good TEs in the NFL, I’m not sure he has a comp. I don't think he's Brock Bowers either. Prob not even Tyler Warren but maybe his game is closer to Colston Loveland. Both 1st rounders by the way. In any event, he's without question one of the top TE in the game and offers a big, talented target with tons of experience in the middle of the field that we didn't have last year and we are better as a result. With all the attention given to our outside receivers, I expect him to be very productive and could play himself into a 1st round pick Quote
Here for the Wins Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Perhaps. Was it you or someone else that shot down Endries? Similar size, similar profile. Same TDs, more catches, probably more actual experience. Until they prove it or that you have evidence to the contrary, the pass catching TE is about a push. It is difficult to determine on these guys how fast they are. Jatavion Sanders was highly thought of, really as a 2 way player out of high school. 3rd round pick. As far as Loveland is concerned, I’d concede his numbers against us to Klare. Personally, I don’t think Klare or Tate will win many individual matchups. That’s not to say there weren’t be opportunities to make plays. That’d be more a function of over playing Smith or the play fake. It’s just unlikely they’ll abuse us with their traits. Individually we match up well. Obviously things can change but neither has had a particularly big game in a big game. And no 7 for 87 in which Smith catches one ball is not a big game. You wouldn’t take 8 for 100 between the two, but we sure as heck would. Quote
