How did Cooper play?

His o line got dominated, which didn’t help him at all. He showed flashes for sure, but they over powered from the start.

They won’t face another opponent that good all season, however.

What impressed me the most was his willingness to get dirty and block. Dude was involved every play, even when he wasn’t touching the ball. Loved to see that.

Cooper’s opponent had a 5 star edge (Maryland commit) and a 5 star safety (bama commit) as well as numerous other D commits.   Hr still got off a few solid runs.  He has great hands, is ok in pass pro and runs hard and falls forward.   His team was outmatched but you could tell he will be something special with a good line. His QB was a freshman as well so they were stacking the box.

🤣 if that was Gunnar Helm blocking they would have called holding

Maybe he should "point" at someone, refs don't seem to like that either lol.

Wow.

Is this just these two teams? Will Texas look as rough-edged? Is this the Big12?

Well Texas doesn't have to travel to Ireland to play a game, so I don't think Texas will look this bad. Saw a few other games and teams looked pretty crisp. Was watching Kansas vs Fresno State, they looked pretty good.

Wish Texas could flip him, but that would require a win in Columbus and Wingo to have a monster season.

You'll have a hard time flipping any WR from Ohio State while Hartline is there and until the guys we recruit start actually producing at a high level. So far one WR recruit from Sark's tenure has made an impact, that being Xavier Worthy.

Not trying to throw shade, that's just the truth right now, imo.

Missed the Kansas game so I looked up the defensive States and was shocked Finkley had 0 across theme board!  Did Fresno just not run any plays in his direction??

Not sure, I completely forgot he was on the Kansas team. Warner, the QB for Fresno State was getting hurried all game long, so I'm not sure he had much of a chance to do anything. Hope he balls out there, really liked Finkley.

Farmageddon!!!!

That soccer pitch didn't provide a very good playing surface. I noticed the KSU HC noted the condition of the field to the ESPN reporter on his way to the locker room for halftime. I know the weather was wet, but welcome to Ireland.

My daughter asked me why the yard lines and other field markings were so faint. I answered that I really didn't know, but my guess was the soccer clubs didn't want their pitch marked up with American college football lines so they demanded the paint/chalk had to be much lighter than we see on the grass playing fields in the USA.

I've watched the Game Zero from Ireland before and it looks like a fun trip for the fans, but just like American football stadiums have to be modified to accommodate international soccer matches, it just seems like the European pitches don't hold up to American college football very well regardless of the weather.

Having said all that, I am ready for DKR to go back to a natural grass playing surface. One more week to Columbus. Hook 'Em!

Credited with 1 QB hurry but that’s all according to the KU football website.

It’s not shade. There’s a truth to what you write. But you’re also neglecting the number of draft picks the last two years, two first rounders and a second. The trend line for Texas is clearly moving in the right direction and that is something recruits look at, too.

I know you’re talking specifically Sark-recruited WRs, but Sark did have a hand in shaping AD Mitchell who is rapidly ascending in NFL circles.

I do wonder what things would look like had Bond not had his off field issues prior to the draft. Texas could've been looking at sending Worthy & Mitchell as 1st & 2nd rounders and then Golden & Bond as 1st & 2nd rounders in back to back seasons.

It was a nice tease, a mediocre appetizer that was brought to your table as a complimentary dish that the restaurant is promoting - you can take it or leave it - but it turns on your parasympathetic nervous system that kicks off that familiar feeling: you are hungry, possibly even starving, for the main course

Receivers know they will flourish and be on NFL radars immediately with Steve Sarkisian and Texas.

Sark locks in his QBs early and builds talent around them. When was the last time Texas had a better recruiting class at WR than this freshman class with McCutcheon, Lockett, Ffrench, Terry III to go with tight ends Emaree Winston and Nick Townsend?

If a receiver wants to compete for an sec title, playoffs and be in an offense for a coach who has led multiple Heisman trophy winners, Texas is the place to be.

Oh?

Nice!  If Chris Jackson's high school recruited WRs (Wingo and Livingstone mainly) have good seasons, Texas wins in Columbus, and they make a $trong push for him, I wouldn't rule it out.  Maybe the Mater Dei connection between Jackson and Henry wins out by December.
