Dread-headed Texan Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago 🤣 I'll pass. Klatt is still concused and Urban Myer is still sniffing his finger. 6 Quote

Agree with this, less time to think and overthink, let your training and natural abilities take over. I was never an elite athlete, but I did complete some Ironman triathlons, my friends always told me on race day to ease my nervousness - just trust your training. That's all the Longhorns needs to do, trust their training - they have some of the best coaches in the sport. 1 Quote
alrightalrightalright Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago I used to really like Klatt a lot. He’s a bit of a Big 10 homer now. The other day with Cowherd he asked Colin if this is a bigger game for the SEC or B1G and the whole convo delved into talking about how great the B1G is with the best player, best team, best coach, last two national champions, etc. To the root of his question, I wouldn’t pound my chest for the SEC if we win, I’d be happy to say that Texas has gone into Tuscaloosa, Ann Arbor, and Columbus in consecutive years. The SEC didn’t do that. Klatt’s Fox affiliation has watered him down for me. But I will watch this lol 4 Quote

genevalonghorn Posted 18 hours ago Posted 18 hours ago Somebody should send Meyer some Jacksonville chubbies. 5 Quote
BloodOrange Posted 13 hours ago Posted 13 hours ago Meyer is not a gracious guy. Very full of himself. Gives Sark some backhanded compliments, but adds, "Who couldn't win at Texas or USC?" Well, Urban, we've seen our share of those who couldn't, but Sark rebuilt UT in three years if getting to the CFP is a measure. We dodged a bullet with Urban (Team isn't performing well -- I'm having sudden health issues) Meyer. 3 Quote

Sark with a new QB (Quinn) in Alabama #1 at DKR, jumped all over Bama with an aggressive opening script. It worked until the late hit/Quinn injury. Only difference is Sark knew what Saban was going to show on defense. He’s probably not so sure this time around, so might feel things out. Quote
CHorn427 Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Outside of Texas winning the national title, I don’t care who wins as long as it’s not Big10. Fox leading the charge saying how the Big10 is so dominant now that they’ve won 2 championships in a row would be laughable if it wasn’t so obnoxious. Fox is garbage. Their college football product is corporate copycat, heartless emulation of College GameDay. Fox asserting Big10 dominance is like Gretchen Weiners trying to make fetch happen. Just be happy to temporarily be on par with the SEC. 1 Quote
HookedOnTF Posted 8 hours ago Posted 8 hours ago Urban is not above setting us up for failure, so I like that he's calling for a Buckeyes win. However the idea that all Day can trust Sayin to do is low risk passes for a field possession game has me licking my chops if our OL holds up. Meanwhile I'd like to see Sark pull a secret hidden 2H starting script out of his back pocket. Quote

The B1G TV/Radio Network guys at B1G media day kept going on and on about how much tougher their conference is with the 9 game conference schedule 🙄 Ready to shut them all up this wknd Quote
horns96 Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago ugh. This thread just reminded me that we have Gus Johnson's histrionics on the call Saturday. Quote
AusMOJO Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I might be one of the few, but I think Meyer would also do really well at Texas. In saying that, his top two landing spots were Ohio State and Florida, both are hot beds for talent and blue bloods sin their own right, no? Now in saying that, he's one of the great college HC's in the last 20 years, imo. Though he has a lot to dislike about him, especially around the culture he would foster that went on for many years. But in saying all that, I'm glad we have Sark and that despite the rough going early on, he's taken Texas to new heights and I hope he sticks with us for the next 20 years lol. Quote

It's not the long history with the SEC; rather it's lack of Big 10 success this century. As a Buckeyes fan, I'm sure you can sympathize with the view that Michigan's 2023 title is illegitimate. Add that to the fact Ohio State gets most of its quality players from Florida, Texas, Georgia and California, and the point is clear. Urban made the recruiting switch to the South because, after coaching Florida to two titles, he knew the Midwest talent couldn't cut it. Outside of Ohio State's 2002 title, there isn't much there for Big 10 country to proudly claim. Quote
