There seems to be an epidemic of thin skin going around. Fix the offensive line and play call what works if you want an NFL job. Maybe get to a national championship game if you want leverage. Hard to establish leverage when your team is seriously challenged with a generational talent at qb in the department where you are supposed to be a master at. A year ago he was on the way to being divorced from his wife. Now he has a baby son and a wife he was getting divorced from. Having time off might be enticing… Texas is a 12 month responsibility. I am curious to see how CDC and Sark navigate this. I’m not sure the NFL looks at this like we do. He’s have much more consistent talent in the NFL as opposed to having to recruit & develop. Quote
TTown Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Sexton is a pro at this . Sark as well. No way all didn't know this was coming out maybe not today but something is going on. Maybe not what was deleted here about personal Sark , but something is afoot. And wow UT denied it probably Bianco but that's his job. Gonna get interesting 🍿🍿 Quote
Longhornmd Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago I think Sark has arrogance and stubbornness. He truly feels like his team will win out and make the playoffs. I am not sure Sark wanted this info out about looking into the NFL especially on game day. If he does win out and makes the playoffs despite lackluster offense would get some attention by NFL teams. It does seem like Sark has some desire to coach in the NFL. Really college is become more like the NFL with longer season, free agency/Portal, and NIL/Contracts. The main difference is players union vs recruiting. Who knows with having a baby maybe Sark feels like he needs to be more at home. In NFL can do this but college you can’t with recruiting. In college dont have much of a break due to recruiting but make more money because of this. Sark or his agent are looking at a high risk/ high reward with all coaching opportunities in both NFL and College. Sark better win out and make the playoffs otherwise not sure the NFL will take him. Not only at you just destroyed relationships with University, Boosters, Team, Recruits and fans. Quote
Ace Recruiter Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago Not going to worry about it. Sark has his warts, but I'd love to have him here for 10+ years. Texas is in a much better place than it's been for 1.5 decades. A lot more desirable destination for elite level coaches. 1 Quote
JCrofford Posted 5 hours ago Posted 5 hours ago (edited) If things go poorly this afternoon in Starkville, the post game presser may be an all-timer. Sexton just pushed Sark into a fire-ant bed and he's about to get swarmed. Edited 5 hours ago by JCrofford Quote

Charlie Strong was treated fine. He lost the fanbase by delivering consistently bad results with no signs of improvement after three years. While we didn't have a great AD then, at least he did go to bat for CS, i.e. flying to Tulsa to beg Sterling Gilbert to be our OC (one of the more embarrassing CS episodes among many to choose from). The Texas job today is as prestigious as ever. We have one of the better ADs, huge and very supportive alumni base, great recruiting footprint, and a good albeit flawed in areas roster fresh off a deep playoff run. Quote

Sexton is going to release this kind of stuff on the game day of a client. Not his style. Quote

Neil Leininger Posted 4 hours ago Posted 4 hours ago I 100% believe what is reported was true, it's obvious Sarkisian isn't plugged in this season as in seasons past. The only possible and/or likely scenarios are on who leaked it. 1) Sarkisian/Sexton - seems least likely because Sarkisian isn't that a big of an ahole and Sexton isn't an idiot. < 5% chance 2) Sark's wife - there are tensions and rumors surrounding her and she wanted out last year. 30-40% chance 3) NFL owners - They would absolutely know and there are several that probably dislike Texas. 20-30% chance. 4) Texas BMDs - There is enough of them that have ears in the NFL circles, could easily be them seeing the writing on the wall with Sarkisian and are premeptively striking. 25-45% chance 1 2 Quote
