CoachBobbyFinstock Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago (edited) I think this was a case with unusual circumstances where trust was overextended. Sarkisian had some off field things and needed his staff to step up. Flood was trusted and he dropped the ball in a big way. Not to mention these guys have shown minimal improvement since arriving. The Stroh and Neto thing was weird by itself. We had one class carry the load for years basically and then the chickens came home to roost. This is a long time coming imo. Sark hasn’t given the Oline the attention it’s needed from a financial standpoint perhaps but Flood did this program no favors through eval and development. You do know that Sark is the decider on who Flood offers and prioritizes, right? Blaming Flood for his boss disappearing in the spring for 30+ days and the no one at the university being able to get ahold of him while missing a junior day for “flu” is certainly a choice. 1 Quote

Sark has say and part of the evaluation of every recruit in the program. He has final say on every personnel decision. So yes. Last time I looked, the buck stops at the top. HC is responsible for everything. Maybe having some help in the box with play calling can help/helps with keeping attention on the whole picture??? Quote

My thoughts again are that Sark trusted subordinates TOO much - this can happen in business as well - coach has had his wakeup call. Quote

Just asking - did this have anything to do with his wife giving birth? Quote

Indeed. But what do you want them to do about it? He chose another school. Are you blaming them for not recruiting him or are you blaming them for not signing him? They recruited him. They couldn’t sign him. Those are two very different things. 4 Quote

I also don’t need to be lectured by some old guy who got kicked off other boards, if I offend you so much, mute me. Quote

Texas didn’t let Endries or Watson see any other campuses because they basically trumped everyone else’s offer by a significant amount. The same could have been done for Pregnon, but wasn’t. That was an exceptionally bad choice by the staff. Obviously nothing they can do about it now, but it’s worth pointing out that it absolutely *could* have been done. If Pregnon went to Oregon because he liked it more, fine. But we should have treated his recruitment like Watson’s or Endries. Hindsight is 20/20, so it is what it is. Quote

Considering the guy insulted me first, I think I was justified. You could have gathered that by reading, but I know it’s tough for you. Quote
