Wasn't there a report today that he took a call from the NY Giants owner? It was just to touch base apparently. First off, are these reports true and are these the type of things people are extrapolating on as him close to leaving?

This is big boy ball. If this nonsense distracts him he ain't up for the job. Perhaps he should focus on his own personal distractions.  He needs to do his job. Fix the team.

I think he knows what big boy ball is a little more than you do.  Your pedestrian expectations don’t mean crap to him.  You do your job and let him do his.  He has earned the benefit of the doubt bc of the past two seasons.  Don’t forget the decade of dog 💩 football we had before him.

Is silly? Is obtuse? Lacks any understanding? Big boy ball, lmao. I like you Zura but this is a miss from you.

Some yall surely miss the point. Sark doesn’t care about this but there’s enough noise that parents and 16/17 yr olds need the reassurance. That’s what chaps his hide. That enough idiots run with anything. Someone here still saying a big donor says he’s leading like all our donors are great dudes without agendas. Please.

The machismo angle is so weird. He needs to be Bobby Knight and burn every bridge? Maybe Kirby and b!tch all night at the refs. Yall ask for freeman but he rarely shows out. I guess the Landry’s, Reid’s, and Belichick’s were soft and bad at football.

Can we quit showing our a$$es already? I feel like I’m at a different site right now. When a team is down, we’re supposed to rally in support not join the buzzards circling. That doesn’t mean drink the kool-aid but it surely means we don’t flame unsubstantiated rumors. If other teams are causing this, you all are helping with this nonsense. Time to circle the wagons! 🤘🏽

This ^^^^^^

I have never said Sark should be gone. I have said several times he has earned a Mulligan this year. But this year is inexcusable to have a 35 million dollar roster and have an OL this bad and potentially miss the playoffs. especially since it is expanded to 12.. And guess what he did a terrible job at tis job this season... Fix it or bye.

Fix it or bye?  How long do you give him since you seem to know football so well?

In this day of college football with the portal and resources at his disposal the expectation is the playoff at a minimum. So make the playoffs or you have failed. Regardless of the past, expectations are different now no matter what we had to deal with during the Herman/Strong era. 3-4 losses a year is not meeting expectations bottom line. How long would you give him?

Sorry, no coach earns any benefit of the doubt in the NIL era. He has one of the highest paid rosters in college football, and has managed to run that roster into the ground. Sorry, I don't care about two semi-final appearences where your side of the ball looked like crap and your inability to run the football has basically cost you every close game you have played in the last two seasons. Texas thought we finally hired a real offensive force, but the results show that isn't true at all.

Rod Babers said it best.  Everything in football goes back to the offensive line.  That has to be fixed or nothing else matters.  We have had bad guard play now for his entire tenure. This year center and tackle also took a step back.   If Sark can’t fix it, or find someone who can, he will get fired.

I trust Elitfe to make whatever decisions need to be made for the program..   But if you think missing the playoffs for two years in a row with it at 12 teams when you are spending 30 million plus for a roster I doubt Eltife would be very happy. Plus at one point to the big donors pull their NIL money and say enough is enough?   Hopefully all this discussion is for not and we get back to business next year. Heck maybe we get lucky and sneak in this year.

Who would've thought people on X/other boards spouting nonsense would have a negative on recruiting and team cohesion?

Lot of longhorn fans have illusory superiority (me included) when discussing our team. Pretty wild stuff getting thrown around willy nilly as if we are omniscient, not to say some criticisms are not warranted, but the outcry reeks of a spoiled fanbase. Remember when Xavier Worthy posted his draft video and had a collection of negative tweets flash in a compilation, I'm sure @Joe Zura does 😉, including some of these people propagating nasty rumors.

Things will work themselves out or they won't, no point in dwelling in this fantastical uncertainty. I'm hoping this fanbase will start taking the serenity prayer to heart.

How is it the fan base fault that the admin, AD’s, and even donors have made bad hires for decades now? Once the fan base goes from expecting titles and winning to whatever else, we have failed as a football program. Especially now that fans and alumni who create the revenue to be used to pay players through revenue share and NIL exist.

Pressure to perform and pressure to win should be higher than ever, ESPECIALLY given our resources with this. I said in another thread the bare minimum we SHOULD expect every season in a 12-16 team playoff is making the damn playoff, every year! With the transfer portal there is no reason not to. National championships should always be the goal. Without the bare minimum I stated you have no shot at a national title.
