Wildcard that could really help is Alabama next week vs Auburn.  I think CJ's take is too negative as it doesnt account for next week and we probably jump Utah and maybe Miami with a win over A&M (which would be the 3rd top 10).

Really need Oregon to win this week to keep hope alive for a 9-3 Texas.

Not to mention Vanderbilt plays Tennessee and Georgia Tech plays Georgia next week. Both of those are likely losses.

It comes down to Alabama or OU losing next week, and Oregon beating USC today.

Then theres an argument to be made, but having BYU and Miami drop another game would all but guarantee it.

A lot needs to happen but its way more likely than CJ's tweet makes it seem.

I don't see why Vanderbilt or even OU would have to lose. If we beat A&M have the same conference record as them. The extra loss is because we played Ohio State on the road and they did not... We'd have 3 top 10 wins including head to heads over both of those schools.

Particularly Vanderbilt would not have a case over us at all in that scenario.

Beat A&M. Really doesn’t matter care about CFP. All they had to do was beat Florida. Beat OU and A&M and win a bowl game.

ACC, B12, G5 and Notre Dame are 4

Aggie, Ole Miss and Georgia are virtual locks.  Bama is likely in with an Iron Bowl win.  OU gets in over Texas with a win. Who could Texas jump ?

Ohio St, Indiana and Oregon are virtual locks.  How do you keep Michigan out if they beat Ohio St?

Will double check this tomorrow but I think Texas needs losses from 4 of OU, Notre Dame, Alabama, BYU, Utah, or Vanderbilt. Then Texas Tech and Miami need to win conference championship games.

ACC is more complicated than I thought. Would be super helpful if Pitt can beat Miami. Otherwise they’ll get two bids because Miami is a long shot to win the conference

ACC will get two in. Miami being ranked every week so far says so. Conference champ + Miami. They definitely don’t deserve 2 though. ND will get in as well

If Miami beats Pitt they’ll get two. That’s the only way since Georgia Tech lost.

Ga tech loss pretty guarantees only 1 ACC team as loser of acc championship guaranteed to have 3 losses now.  A 3 loss Texas trumps a 3 loss ACC team. 
 

We need 1 of bama or OU to lose next week along with a Vandy loss to Tenn.  bama will struggle to move ball on the road vs a good Auburn defense.  
 

byu win was a bit of a hit tonight.  Will a 2 loss byu (assuming a loss to tech) get in over a 3 loss sec team.  Byu hasn’t beat anyone this year. It Texas beat a$m they can point to 3 top 10 wins.

Miami would be the second ACC team. They’re unlikely to make the championship game and where they’re ranked, they win and they’re in ahead of us.
