With the A&M game looming... I thought this would be an appropriate time to get some good ol wishes in. I've been scouring social media of a few major players on schools with major coaching changes... and I'm seeing some Longhorns of note in the comments section. I'm also seeing a lot of those particular players on those same Longhorns posts. I also see the players teammates indicating that they seem to be a bit nervous.. like its possible they may leave! 

 

Drop who you want in the portal here. I got a major name... but I'm waiting to see who's on the same page.

I’ll say at RB, it would be nice to get a guy like kewan lacy, Caleb Hawkins, or Bryson Washington if he doesn’t head to the NFL. 

Wouldn’t surprise me to see Hawkins follow Morris to OKSt though. 

At WR, Jayce Brown would be interesting if he’s cheap enough. I think he’d do well in this offense. The Scudero guy from SJSU is tiny, but would also be interesting if he could survive a hit or two.

2-3 SEC starter quality interior OL

1-2 burner WRs who can create separation and take the top off a defense. 
 

Defer to others on our defensive needs.

A steady presence in the safety or corner room would be nice. They’ve been exposed way too much for my liking. A downhill runningback, a wide receiver that can win in space and a road grader or two at guard.

A wish I have that wouldn’t require as much NIL as Coleman would be Marsh out of Michigan State. He’d be easily the best receiver on our team.

It all depends on the amount of money we have to work with.  If it is a similar dollar amount to last year then we will go after overall depth shortfalls again.   Sark maximized our money last year.

IMO next year should be in it to win it year. Spare no expense and go above budget to shoot for a title.

I agree including trying to entice Muhammad and even Hill to come back. Go all in like Ohio State did last year.

Gotta be 2 or even 3 guys in the interior for OL and at least a starter at RB that we know is gonna produce, you can find the at the G5 level for cheap.

Don’t really care about WR, I think we can manage, they’re also really expensive, don’t know if that would be a good ROI.

A TE that’s more of a threat in the passing game would be nice.

Safety is a must.

Line backer we probably need an SEC starter level player.

Probably need one or two dbs?

A priority would be a star at RB and some experienced IOL. Haven’t had a consistent running game since Jonathan Brooks went down in 2023.

Not in the portal, don't know if he will, this is a hypothetical wish list - just named Freshman of the Year for the Southland Conference and First Team All-Conference. I'd hope he stay another year in the Valley though. 

Tellek Lockette - IOL (RG) Texas State

Super senior, highly rated. Dad's a coach at Marshall. OLine is still going to be pretty green next year. Stroh and Kibble are behind DJ, unless there's shuffling with Cojoe hopefully back. Does Coach Flood stick with them or actually consider adding experience? Robertson and Umeozulu being the only seniors, if Neto returns.

Dylan Edwards RB - Kansas State via Colorado

Ehhh super talented, would've been a pick but 5'9 167, I don't think Sark goes for a smaller back. Let's see who else shows up. Experience would be great if CJ Baxter still has injury trouble. I think we expect James Simon to get a bigger bulk of the snaps.

Safety and Corner

is a wait and see. Need to know where Santana Wilson and Caleb Chester are at. IF Littleton moves opposite of Phillips, could that move either one to nickel..behind Mack?? or a solid transfer or an incoming freshman stands out for either corner or nickel.

Kicker

Saw Will Stone on threads asking where he should go, having him in 2026 would have been great. But accuracy and long distance kicker is a MUST.

 

again, these are hypothetical wish lists. I'm looking more at lower divisions as well, tons of highly experienced talent that shouldn't break the NIL bank. Except Garner, Tech obviously opens the McDuck vault every time a player submits a resume.

What do you like about him? Seems like he's got good size and production at a place like Michigan State. Might have to go check out some of his tape.

There is one linebacker/edge, in particular, I have my singular focus on. To have them both... for the 26 season.. would be epic. We're in wait and see mode with these coaching hires, for sure. Remember, guys wanna win and maximize their draft slots... and finishing 2nd place, like Jeff Howe loves to point out, definitely is a major factor around this time. Nobody has mentioned him yet, btw....

Bobby has said that Texas is going after more developmental players late in this HS class cause they're preparing to be very aggressive in the portal.
I'm gonna predict that no fans here are gonna be complaining about what we're gonna get in the portal lol.
Also wanna mention Texas' success rate in the portal. They can scout REALLY well there. The misses are mostly due to character, not talent etc...

There's holes here and there but I'd be very very mad if next year we don't have a downhill running game that teams fear to open up the play action and give arch more time in the pocket.
IOL and RB to me, along with some changes in the scheme, is paramount. PARAMOUNT.
We can live with not getting the #1 WR or TE for example, but we desperately need a very very good interior of the line and a starting RB.
On defense safety and linebacker are the priorities for me. I think the young guys at DB are gonna be really good next year and 5 might even come back another year.

What a surprise that a guy who flip-flopped his commitment multiple times along with transferring high schools multiple times is now trasferring LMAO
