  1. CJ texted with Sanborn yesterday right after the draft, and like @bourbasted wrote, he is headed to Atlanta. The most coveted non-drafted guys usually make quick decisions post-draft. That's a decent sign for Sanborn that the decision was made so quickly.
  2. Media is not bound by HIPPA.
  3. At pick no. 101, the first of the fourth round, to the Carolina Panthers. He and J Brooks will be reunited in Charlotte.

  4. There were. He told some folks he was returning then changed his mind. Walton did something similar.
  5. Off the board with the first pick in the 4th round.
  6. The burnt orange continues.
  7. Type I diabetic would get disclosed to teams. Plenty of NFL players are diabetic. It’s how you deal with it for the most part.
  8. He talks about why the Colts saw through all the smoke. https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/40033982/adonai-mitchell-colts-nfl-draft-backed-gm-profane-rant
  9. I wrote this elsewhere. I think he goes in the 4th because of his ability as a receiver. However, the reason he has dropped thus far has to be his lack of strength - not his lack of top-end speed. Hard to play in-line in the pros. I think he would immediately be the weakest tight end in the league based on bench reps alone.
  10. He and CJ are definitely working on it.
  11. It apparently did. No one except teams were invited. He ran a 4.42.
  12. There were two major surprises and one pleasant one on Friday. First, T’Vondre was selected early on by the Tennessee Titans. The consensus view of Sweat slipping out of the early rounds apparently wasn’t one the Titans subscribed to despite Sweat’s DUI arrest two weeks ago. Second, Adonai Mitchell slid all the way to no. 52, likely largely on reports that Mitchell was difficult in practice at both Georgia and Texas. Mitchell will now head to Indianapolis where he’ll get a fresh start. And then the pleasant one… Jonathon Brooks became the second consecutive Longhorn to be selected the first running back in the NFL draft. He’s heading to Carolina. ** Anyone who thought Texas lost to a lesser talented Washington team needs to think twice, particularly on offense. Through the first three rounds, UW has had its QB, three wide receivers and both offensive tackles already taken. ** Michigan currently leads with a total of seven players selected in the first. Texas sits at five thus far. The Wolverines might have as many as 13 players selected by the end of today. That’s even heavier attrition than Texas is likely to see. JT Sanders, Christian Jones and Jaylan Ford will all almost assuredly be drafted, which will give the Horns eight picks total for comparison. ** Good luck to Jordan Whittington, Ryan Watts and Keilan Robinson today. Many think they are all on the fringe of being draft picks.

  14. He said he’s going in. It sometimes takes a couple of days for appropriate paperwork.
  15. Welcome to the party!
  16. Colorado currently is not the concern. The concern is convincing Williams that Texas is the place he needs to be - that's it, that's what the Horns have to do. So far, so good.
  17. Strange call for me but I’m going Xavier Worthy.
  18. I think you constantly reevaluate staff but I don’t think Austin Jordan is one you do that on.
  19. I just texted with him. He says he hasn't said anything like that.
  20. Love this sort of educational benefit tied to NIL. https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20240424102155/en/Ouro-Teams-Up-with-Texas-One-Fund-with-Multi-Year-NIL-X-World-Wallet-Financial-Empowerment-Program-for-University-of-Texas-Student-Athletes
  21. Something about this portal recruiting seems less harried than a year ago. Hope it produces better results.
  22. Let’s see what they do in the portal.
  23. the portal. I was told on Tuesday that Jordan had decided to stay at Texas. Obviously, that decision flipped from what I was told yesterday. Jordan is a class of 2022 signee and was currently running 3rd team at the star position. Even though he was 3rd team, Jordan was considered a valuable member of the Texas secondary. Jordan is the second member of the secondary to declare an intent to transfer in as many days. Returning starting cornerback Terrance Brooks announced a similar decision on Tuesday.
