    Sucks for Mertz. One national reporter I know really well is friends with the family in his hometown of St. Louis. He speaks of Graham and the family very highly. But it's DJ Lagway's team the rest of the season, including the trip to Austin. Here's the remainder of their schedule starting this week: Kentucky (at home) off Georgia (neutral) Texas (away) LSU (home) Ole Miss (home) FSU (away) They're currently 3-3. If they don't beat Kentucky this weekend, Napier's gone because FSU will be the only other team they'll be favored against.

    At some point, Sonny Dykes will go down as the average coach he is. How some folks got all hot and bothered by him and his first year at TCU is a lesson for folks who jump to conclusions. A .500 to .550 coach doesn't change his stripes in a single year; he just got better players. And don't forget, he went with the wrong QB to start that season, too.
