  1. What’s a potential third string linebacker worth? Or would be second string? I don’t know. But Barnes appears to be willing to test those waters.
  2. I feel very strongly about Texas' standing with Rutgers corner Bo Mascoe. The honorable mention All-Big Ten pick visited Texas yesterday and today.
  3. Earlier today around 1pm on his ranch, Jordan Shipley, the former Texas wide receiver, was involved in an accident. Shipley escaped the accident with the help of a worker nearby but he was severely burned in the process. Shipley was care-flighted to Dell-Seaton Hospital in Austin and is currently undergoing the first of what will likely be several surgeries ahead. Please pray for Jordan and his family, as well as his dad Bob Shipley, who is on the way to the hospital to be with Jordan and his family now. Thank you. View full news story

  5. I mentioned Texas being on the road today. They are expected to visit (or have already visited) Jayden Woods, the former Florida defensive end, who lives in Kansas City and former Michigan linemen Jake Guarena and Andrew Sprague.
  6. Wisconsin linebacker Christian Alliegro is expected to visit Ohio State today or tomorrow. Another high stakes battle for the Horns.
  7. Parker Livingstone has signed with Oklahoma. The financial package is said to be similar to what the Longhorns offered.
  8. Several Texas coaches are on the road today and to more than one locale. We've mentioned Jabbar Juluke goiong to see RB Raleek Brown. That is not the only visit Texas coaches are making today.
  9. Florida running back Jadan Baugh has re-signed with the Gators.
  10. I want to add something here. I respect Zenitz and Hummer, but I’m not where they are quite yet on Brown.
  11. From CJ: Add a tight end to the 2026 portal class! Texas has secured a signature from former Michigan State tight end Michael Masunas following his visit to campus on Monday. Masunas played the last three seasons with the Spartans in East Lansing, tallying over 500 career snaps. In 2025 specifically, Masunas recorded 391 snaps on the season. In the passing game, Masunas hauled in 19 passes for 232 yards and 3 touchdowns. At 6-foot-5-inches and 259 pounds, Masunas lined up almost exclusively as an in-line blocker in 2025. I suspect he will be used the same way in Austin next fall.
  12. From Gerry: First up … Miami DL transfer Donta Simpson(Hollywood, Fla./Chaminade-Madonna) is scheduled to visit Texas Tuesday. The Texas visit will be followed by trips to Illinois, Washington and possibly SMU. ————— And on Wednesday, LSU NG transfer Zion Williams(Lufkin, Texas/High) is scheduled to visit Texas. The 6-4, 350-pounder went into the portal with a no contact tag. Should Texas make this offer, it would be as a development NG to add more size over the ball to go with Ian Geffrard and Josiah Sharma.
  13. Former Texas running back Tre Wisner has signed with Florida State. Congrats to Tre!
  14. Wisconsin linebacker Christian Alliegro is expected to visit Texas this week (as soon as today is not out of the question). Alliegro is a two-year starter for the Badgers who is from Darien, Conn.
  15. From Gerry: Per two sources, Arizona State transfer RB Raleek Brown is expected to make a visit to Texas. Brown visited Indiana over the weekend, and Alabama is also expecting a mid-week visit. The 5-foot-9, 195-pounder rushed for 1,141 yards and 4 TD's in 2025, along with catching 34 passes for 239 yards and 2 TD's.
  16. Thanks for the feedback! I’ll check with Rick.
  17. If I understand correctly, you want to be able to comment on the thread but not see the comments of others and only see the comments of the moderators?
  18. According to published reports, Louisville running back Isaac Brown will return to Louisville next season. Brown announced last week that he would enter the portal. Even though he filed the paperwork, Louisville used the two business day policy to negotiate with him and reached a deal on Sunday. Texas was thought to be one of the team’s most interested in Brown had he entered the portal. Where does Texas go from here for an RB? Florida RB Jaden Baugh has supposedly been contemplating entering the portal but has not done so. LSU running back Caden Durham, who played high school ball at Duncanville, entered the portal yesterday. But with Brown off the board, it’s a guess as to who the Horns might be able to snare.
  19. Texas will get a visit from Miami freshman defensive lineman Donta Simpson. Simpson, who is 6-3, 300 pounds, played his high school ball at Chaminade-Madonna High, the same school that produced incoming Texas running back recruit Derek Cooper and Florida State safety Edwin Joseph who visited Texas this weekend. Illinois, Washington and SMU also hope to get Simpson to visit.
  20. Texas has added a long-snapper via the portal. Trey DuBuc, who played at New Mexico last year, has signed with Texas. Texas graduated its starting longsnapper this season.
