  1. If you want a 9-3 Texas to have the best odds, you have to have OU lose this game.
  2. I loved going to the Clemson game last year. I think best for Texas would be to win out, miss the SEC championship game by tie breaker, and host a home game.
  3. Cincinnati has 2 losses already I believe? Don't think a 2 loss big 12 team gets in unless they win the championship.
  4. This is correct. The committee indicated this with quite a few 2 loss teams over current 1 loss teams in the ACC.
  5. I agree that makes it more likely. I just dont see BYU getting much respect at all after today's performance.
  6. Well yes, but this post is assuming Texas goes 9-3.
  7. Bonus points for Pitt beating ND
  8. A lot of positive things happened for Texas today. As I see it, we need Texas to go 2-1 of the remaining 3 games and have the following happen to likely secure Texas a spot as the 5th SEC team. 1. USC loses to Oregon 2. Michigan loses to Ohio St 3. Oklahoma loses to Alabama 4. Vanderbilt loses to Tennessee
  9. Vanderbilt looking very shakey
  10. I have been saying this about Indiana. They're the same team as last year. Cignetti beats up on bad teams, but when the talent is even or in the opponents favor, this happens. If Oregon loses today, Indiana should not be ranked above a lot of 2 loss SEC teams.
  11. Cheaper glass
  12. What about Dallas Wilson?
  13. According to SEC Mike, Texas would need to win out and have Ole Miss drop a game. I actually prefer the route of Texas winning out and missing the SEC championship. Likely results in hosting a playoff game and gives the team a week to rest instead of playing in the SEC championship and sustaining injuries.
  14. I don't care what OU ends up doing tonight, if Texas isnt above OU, the committee is showing their hand on what they think of that win.
  15. Feeling good about today. Said it earlier in the week, but it feels like a similar opportunity to the OU game.
  16. Never seen any fans miserable after an exciting game like that. If any fans were miserable after a win, it would've been last week vs Kentucky!
  17. How would you feel if you won the lottery?
  18. Would an NFL team take a 6-6 head coach
  19. How likely do we feel something like this is?
  20. 1. If you believe that is all there is to the story, I'd say that is highly unlikely. 2. Organizations and individuals can use leverage against those in positions of impact in sports to affect the outcome of games. This is why it is absurd for the NCAA to allow any gambling for college athletes.
  21. I hear this argument, but I don't think pragmatism means weak or timid necessarily. There's got to be a balance between big games (plenty of them in the SEC) and winnable games to put you in a better position to compete for national championships.
  22. Genuinely curious...what are everyone's thoughts about the benefits (or lack thereof) of being part of the SEC a couple years in? Looking at the schedules of Texas Tech, Miami, Oregon, and even Ohio St as top 10 teams in other conferences, they have a much clearer path to the playoff than Texas will ever have especially with the SEC moving to 9 games and the consistently high competition in the conference. Does the recruiting advantage, higher revenue share, etc. outweigh the negatives of a much more difficult regular season and path to the playoffs? Does Texas further hurt itself scheduling non conference games like Ohio St? Hard to feel like those games are of any benefit given that playing say, Rice, instead of OSU and getting an easy W would have Texas a current top 10 team 5-1 and still with 1 game margin of error for the CFB playoff. As a fan, I love the big games, but I also like the idea of being in the playoff picture more often.
