  1. Yeah, I edited before seeing your reply. Should've clarified between waiting on who the new coach is vs. just portaling in normal window.
  2. Bingo. If Michigan waits until late enough in January to hire a coach, this could screw the players/recruits because they can't academically register past certain dates with another school(s). Makes transferring much harder if they want to wait and see.
  3. There is a 15-day window that opens 5 days after Michigan hires a new coach.
  4. Wow. Moore can't find his way out of trouble if he tried. Way to waste an amazing gig. Michigan is shady for the timing of this. Pretty obvious they did this after signing day on purpose. I'd negative recruit the hell out of that school in 2027.
  5. SEC branding as the top tier conference has a lot of sway (i.e. Aggie). We wouldn't be penalized much. Especially when it expands (soon). More risk losing a big non-con.
  6. After the game this year, they probably tried to pull Arch so they can have a real QB. Completely exposed Reed and that offense.
  7. Give him free reign to slap any Aggie or Sooner he so chooses!
  8. Especially the inside. It needed help.
  9. Utah BOR initially approved moving forward with exploring this option. The interest is there. Curious what the State legislature does (you know BYU is going to object unless they can do the same). Sounds like the Utah AD would head the Board for the new entity with PE. If control over revenue sharing allocation, school facilities, and school staff (like coaches) remain with Utah as described, this could become real. Apparently, Boise is exploring this option as well.
  10. Starts with "tamp". Ends with "ering". It's a very interesting idea with potentially serious drawbacks. The university basically forms a company (Utah Brands and Entertainment) with the PE firm and that company's board has the Utah AD as head. Utah does not have the alumni/donor funds that some other big schools have so they are leaning on essentially PE management of revenue rights to increase generation of said funds. $500 million is a lot of estimated funds. That PE firm is all sports exec people, so they know how the game works. Not your run of the mill PE firm. Utah is a state school so I'm curious if the final version makes it past the BOR or runs into state legislature roadblocks. I see that coaching staffs and revenue sharing distribution(s) remain under university control so the PE can't "fire" them or allocate RS payouts but that doesn't mean they can't influence decisions heavily. Curious how this works out if it comes to fruition.
  11. Bingo. The 105 helps more with portal than HS in my opinion.
  12. I'm not sold on Leavitt. His season derailed with a lisfranc injury requiring season-ending surgery. That injury requires a lot of healing (~6mo or more) meaning he may miss spring ball too. Part of his game is his mobility and this injury directly affects that. Plus, defenses in the SEC are a completely different animal. That's a lot of money to gamble on a maybe.
  13. They are going to take as many swings as they need dependent on the number of portal entrants and draft declarations. If the mods are really expecting 20+ entrants, don't be surprised to see them take some depth at key positions (on top of the obvious studs). Moving to 105 allows more portal action this year.
  14. Only 10? Consider me interested...
  15. He'll land in a good spot. Dude can start at multiple programs.
  16. I hope we take a serious shot at the LB GianCarlo Rufo out of Georgetown. One year guy that gets downhill in a hurry. The OT out of UConn, Ben Murawski, is interesting. 6'7 335lb with starting experience at both LT and LG. One year guy.
  17. Every player has a specific or narrowed $ value with the staff. That number obviously varies player to player. The staff knows what they'd be willing to allocate. Watson is only going to get better. Remember that. We can't afford to lose too many high floor DL.
  18. Good. This joke of a system deserves pushback.
  19. We are really about to be left out for teams like JMU, Miami, ND, OU, or Bama. This committee is a joke.
  20. Their lawyers said "sue us". Our lawyers said "it depends". I agree with their lawyers BTW. College sports has a ways to go through the courts/congress. Take advantage while you can.
  21. How BYU made it through the season with 1 loss is a mystery. They look like a very average team. Says a lot about how down the Big 12 was this season.
  22. I'll keep screaming from the rooftops that this system will remain broken so long as ADs make up the committee. Needs to be retired coaches or football media members only. Going to 16 helps but doesn't solve the main issue.
