  1. I've seen this tossed around but it seems like a lateral hire or downgrade from JF. Would be very underwhelming. Feel like he's squeezing BYU for a raise.
  2. This is an interesting one. Dude is top 10 in FBS solo tackles this season (61). Eck and Lampron are good options for a one-year SR LB but they have to enter. I'm curious to see if Chambliss enters from SDSU. RS Jr. from Cali that started at Utah (played 4 games) then went to SDSU. 6'3 230lb 106 tackles (61 solo) 9.5 TFL 4 sacks. That's a big WR right there. Didn't take long for a good one to hop in.
  3. This is where is matters moving forward. 9 SEC games a year is brutal but equates to elite SOS each year. Big non-con games aren't needed now and are really more of a risk in the current CFP format.
  4. Bama is not a good team that will have 3 losses if they lose. They lost to a terrible FSU who Florida destroyed. They lost to OU who we blew out. I'd agree if it was Ole Miss v. Georgia but Bama is on thin ice. If Bama and BYU get whooped, watch out.
  5. He would be dangerous at SMU, TCU, and Baylor. Maybe Zona and Colorado too if he can get NIL in order.
  6. He would kill it at either of those schools. He's a Big 10 coach at heart. No way Michigan keeps Moore, right? Choosing between Michigan and PSU is a tough one.
  7. They are laying the groundwork to deny us a playoff spot.
  8. It's a stretch but the precedent is there. TV money is a big deal. Now they have an excuse to bring in Texas eyeballs. Do I think they'll drop Ole Miss? No. We unfortunately lose out to the ridiculous G5 auto bid between 2 teams with HCs leaving. BYU or Miami getting in over Texas is a travesty.
  9. Still a 15 day window starting 5 days after a new coach is hired. Sounds like Ole Miss already started talking to other coaches so they probably have 1 or 2 candidates they like.
  10. You should see him play in person. He's different.
  11. ...which is why we will not get in. The Utah AD will make sure the Big 12 sneaks in 2 somehow.
  12. I'm not buying into the Tech hype yet. They haven't played a decent schedule at all. BYU and Utah are overrated (the Big 12 and ACC suck this year). They also lost to ASU without QB1. It wouldn't surprise me to see a quick Tech playoff exit. The CFP rankings this season are suspect. There's no way ND, Utah, Michigan, and Miami should be as high as they are right now. Oregon and Ole Miss both belong ahead of Tech as well.
  13. West Virginia is up there for me with Purdue and Cincy. Cal can't be fun either.
  14. This. More scholarships at D1 means more spots at D2 and D3 for kids that may not have received those opportunities. More college-trained athletes for various sports (and opportunities for some kids to get out of bad life situations). My opinion from the rabbit hole is this is good for football growth internationally. This applies to all collegiate/olympic sports, but football is barely scratching the surface overseas and this increases player supply for various leagues.
  15. He has an unpleasant history outside of Baylor. No thank you. Sounds about right for Portales though.
  16. ...technically next season is Arch's last so wouldn't it kind of have to be the year to win with Arch? By default lol
  17. That's 90%+ of all high school OL recruits lol
  18. This is more Oxford versus Baton Rouge. Have to drive a while from Oxford to get redfish.
  19. Redfish
  20. At this point, Sexton is the pot and spoon lol
  21. That doesn't seem like a great idea for DeBoer.
  22. Vic is rolling. He was such a good hire.
  23. I'm not saying the original report was true, but agents take calls ALL the time. Coaches always listen even if they have no intention of leaving. Sark loves college football. That is no secret. However, for the reasons you mention, it would be no surprise needing a break from the current college football grind. If I'm an NFL owner, I'm hammering home the life balance for his young family. The current college sports landscape is incredibly time-consuming and stressful. Even more so when you're the head coach at a large-brand, blue blood program like Texas. With the injection of NIL, the expectations are higher now. IF Sark left (a big if), I could see him returning to college later on when the landscape has settled down with regulation and his baby is older.
  24. Quick destination decisions are what a transfer is. It's expedited recruiting in a short window. January and May both have issues. May at least gives schools and coaches in the playoffs the ability to manage rosters properly. Not worried about the athlete having the time to learn scheme compared to the issues coaches and schools are having. They get paid to figure it out.
