    He does sound a lot like Sark. I had the presser playing on my phone but had my eyes on my work computer screen. When Miller started talking, I had to look at the screen because I thought Sark was talking for some reason.

    I want Ben McCollum. He's a legit ball coach. In the age of NIL, he doesn't need perfect regional recruiting contacts, he needs to develop and win. I think he could do it, and do it for a long time.

    When I watch other teams play fluid, fun offense, it makes me want a new leader for the Longhorns' basketball program even more.

    Berkman absolutely would have been a better choice than Cruz, but the Rice academic admin, faculty, and community still dislike Lance for the public stance he took on transgender stuff. The tide is turning on that issue, so he will likely be viewed more favorably soon. He's a volunteer assistant there this season and he likes Pierce, so that's fun for him.

    I don't see much UNC "hate" but it's easy to see how others belonged in over them.

    I'd take the job for half. Put the rest in the NIL budget. Give me 3 or 4 years and see if I can get it going.

    Frankly, Pierce didn't have to do too much. There's a large faction of former players who pushed for Pierce to get the job this offseason. They kept pushing until it happened.

    What a start to the season. Let's see how well we can keep it going. Some legitimate concerns have been mentioned above regarding relief pitching. I think we need another bat to step up. Winfield, Farmer, Chamberlain, and Schuessler aren't getting it done, on the whole. I expect Flores to hit better. Will Borba keep hitting, and if he does, will he stay in the lineup?

    Huff started 94 games and picked off 11 passes. That's not a "great" NFL career, but it's pretty dang good.
