  1. Tennessee is likely to provide a very rude welcome to the SEC in a few weeks. And Josh Heupel won’t hesitate to run the score up on his old school given the way he was dismissed a few years ago. Should be fun times on the OU boards this season.
  2. Why not both?? UOV one weekend, and OV the other weekend. That would give Texas fans two consecutive weeks of laughing at aggy meltdown posts.
  3. Hudson had a varsity football offer, but chose to play JV instead (JV Joey, that is). That’s on him (and his handlers). The DoubleEagle guys funding the Tech football program are finding out that Maguire was little more than a trash talking high school football coach who talked enough smack to make believers out of them. And now the bill comes due.
  4. ND can go to the playoffs even if they slip-up and lose one of the remaining games on their cupcake schedule, so they’re basically in the playoff at this point. Miami now gets two bites at the Playoff Apple and it’ll be interesting to see if Mario can screw them both up. Not only is Miami heavily favored to win the ACC championship to get to the playoffs (that’s the first bite), they are also likely to win at least 10-11 games with that schedule making them a potential at-large playoff team (bite #2) should Mario lose a game or two along the way. With FSU’s loss to GT, Clemson’s embarrassment against UGA, VT losing to Vandy, (and NC State likely to get crushed by Tennessee on Saturday), the ACC has almost a zero percent chance of getting an at-large playoff spot…with the exception of a 10-11 win Miami.
  5. Maalik vs. Musk. That’s must see TV.
  6. The weird thing about the private jet deal (Nicolas Air) is that the company is a huge NIL / booster of Ole Miss, and is based in Oxford, MS. The company has sponsorship ads all over the athletic facilities in Oxford, and have NIL deals with players like Jaxon Dart. Good for Quinn though!
  7. oh goody…the traveling “Lone Star Showdown” trophy is making a comeback!
  8. Kickoff isn’t until 11am. Priorities, man.😀
  9. Sounds like it’s a flip to Georgia Tech. UGA fans saying the recruit is being processed to make room for Justus Terry and the other 5-star DL leaning UGA’s way (E.Griffin). Assuming so, maybe this opens the door for Texas with Hanne (should UGA land another two 5-star DTs in the coming days and weeks)?
  10. Two thoughts: 1. The only reason for a CG is TV revenue. The whole playoff seeding / top 4 is there to provide a fig leaf of credibility to the existence of the CG game. If and when we move to a 16-team playoff, the “byes” for the top 4 should go away and then there will be absolutely zero reasons for having the CG games…except for the TV revenue 😀. 2. While I agree with your points on the loser of the SEC CG having an emotional letdown and having the play again the following week, etc. I would also note that the SEC runner-up (CG loser) will typically be ranked 5th in the playoff seeding (ahead of the 3rd place SEC team) and will therefore face a G5 token the following week (at home). For example, if Texas loses to Georgia in the SEC CG, we likely play Liberty the following week at DKR. Not a big risk of loss.
  11. I was guessing this would be a play in this recruitment. That he will be playing college baseball next Spring is huge, as he polishes up the resume for the MLB draft next July (‘25). I don’t expect him to actually go through Spring football (maybe some cursory non-contact drills) as he would be in the middle of college baseball season. But, it provides some additional leverage for contract negotiations (with MLB). Net-Net: as a future professional athlete, he gains nothing by playing high school baseball next spring (2025).
  12. Lol. I keep waiting for the report of massive violations of practice time restrictions and impermissible in-person coaching to drop, but haven’t seen anything yet. And Harbaugh walks away as an unscathed hero.
  13. Good, we get to kick some aggy ass twice in one season.
  14. Texas > LSU. 😀
  15. Handing out NIL deals for Miami, I assume?
  16. Are we doing some scholarship arbitrage here with the new rules for scholarship limits? Can we now move a baseball scholarship to the football scholly count to make room for additional baseball players?
  17. Wow, I actually have something to share on a baseball thread 😀 Here goes: I went to several Ole Miss baseball games this season and saw Saunier pitch a couple of times. He was good the first time through the line-up and for 3-4 solid innings in his starts, but typically was relieved after that. Definitely has starter potential, but still young and needs tutalege. He was a Sunday / Tuesday starter for Ole Miss when healthy last season. I’ll now shut-up and let the baseball experts take it from here.
  18. USC Penn State Washington
  19. Big 12 officials have been for sale for decades.
  20. He hates Lambos, and his room at the Four Seasons didn’t have a lake view.
  21. If Washington would’ve actually handed the ball to the RB on those play-action fakes, Norton would’ve been the player of the game. 🙂
