  1. As a HC, Mack Brown had 15 winning seasons to 5 losing or .500 seasons prior to VY as a full time starter, then 11 winning seasons to 3 losing or .500 seasons after VY. That is not analogous to Belichick/Brady. Brown was still a significantly above average HC without VY.
  2. The statement should read, over the course of 29 years as a HC, Belichick has had two winning seasons during which Tom Brady was not his QB. And zero division championships or playoff wins.
  3. The only thing wrong with my statement is syntax. Apologies. The point stands- without Brady, Belichick has been an average to below average head coach. Brady won without Belichick, Belichick did not win anything significant without Brady. Andy Reid is far and away the more accomplished HC in my eyes compared to Belichick.
  4. Note: as a HC, Belichick never won one playoff game or even a division championship without Brady as his starting QB. 2 winning seasons in 29 years without Brady.
  5. Difference there is that OJ is a murderer and Mack Brown is a very good man by literally every account of people who actually know him, including hundreds to thousands of players.
  6. To be honest with you, the 2014 team was not devoid of talent in the least. On offense: David Ash, Swoopes and Heard wasn’t a bad QB room before Ash’s injury. Malcolm Brown, Jonathan Gray and Joe Bergeron was one of our best RB rooms until recently (before Strong kicked JB off the team). Jaxon Shipley, John Harris and Marcus Johnson wasn’t a bad WR corps and Geoff Swaim is still a NFL TE. On defense, we had longterm NFL guys at every level: Malcom Brown, Hassan Ridgeway, Jordan Hicks, Quandre Diggs, Mykelle Thompson.
  7. I assume those of you trashing Mack Brown really enjoyed the 35 years in between the 1970 and 2005 national championships
  8. There is zero debate between tOSU and Bama
  9. What he meant to say was: ”We are going to become the preeminent 8-4 team in all of college football”
  10. I'm alright with it. Tough competition in the regular season prepares you for the postseason. Few to zero teams win national titles without being challenged during the regular season. If ND isn't adequately challenged, they will eventually flame out in the post season.
  11. I think Huff produced more/put up the better body of work while at Texas. Earl was more talented and did better in the NFL, but had a shorter and less accolade-filled career than Huff
  12. Overhype. 2005 Texas vs tOSU says hello
  13. Texas Tech will not be a truly serious “contender” to win a national title
  14. 1. Sark has already commented on the RZ TD % and toss sweep pretty extensively. 2. Every program that will be a contender this year is spending in the ballpark of Texas 3. All of the good players are likely “being tampered with”. But with the three points I listed in my original post and the fact that we can pay players with the best of them, tampering with our players seemingly has a low success rate
  15. What type of hardball questions can you ask Sark right now? He’s had the most successful combined last two seasons of any active head coach except Ryan Day, at least tied for most successful combined last two recruiting classes and most successful program in the draft with the last two years combined.
  16. Awesome stuff man. God is great, and you and your wife are clearly great parents to have raised a son like Colt. Very happy that y’all are in a better place now after the medical scares.
  17. That guy must think Texas is winning the championship next year, if that’s his first round mock. If all 4 of those guys have good enough seasons to go that high in next year’s draft, that means we won the title imo. Especially CJ Baxter.
  18. ❄️ ⛄️❄️
  19. Miami is a hell of a lot nicer place to live than many NFL landing spots, as well.
  20. Congrats to Quinn! Happy he was the one that put us to 12!
  21. A post above claims it was a failure by Sark to stick with Quinn. I don’t see it that way at all
  22. Preface: some of these takes crapping on Quinn and Sark and the shouldacouldawouldas is just trashy. Quinn was great for us. Sark has been great for us. Furthermore- Quinn did things the right way. He could have taken a multimillion dollar deal somewhere, even Texas Tech, but he wanted to finish his career as a Longhorn. If you truly support this program, support Quinn better because he is a great Longhorn. that being said, I think the two most important criteria to consider for NFL QB prospects: - Gotta either be mobile or have good pocket presence - Gotta have at least a halfway reliable deep ball Unfortunately, these are Quinn’s two Achilles’ heels, and the other QBs being selected above him satisfy these two criteria better.
  23. The draft that Texas got 3 into the first round for the first time in 45 years is going to be used against them? 🤔 Almost as good of a take as some of Mel Kiper’s.
  24. Get over yourself. Quinn had a stellar career for us. Being a hindsight fortune teller is the easiest thing in the world to do.
