  1. I have full confidence that he will eventually get there with his reads and check downs but it has certainly been difficult to watch. The short and intermediate doesn't come naturally for his eyes or touch right now. Caldwell knew what the defense was throwing at him, where the pressure was coming from and to get it out quickly in space where only his guy has a chance to make a play or nobody does. Wingo converted the 2nd and 22 a crucial clutch play in the game. Aaron Murray did a good job breaking down some of the concerns with Archs eyes and decision making in this breakdown of the Florida game. All of the tools are there, hoping the mental speeds up for him sooner rather than later but I do believe it's coming. Quinn's pre snap check vs AZ St, even when the OL had a penalty to make it 4th and 13 -- was crucial to winning a playoff game. The little things and subtleties a great QB does need to be developed and improved but should come with experience. I thought he'd be much further along mentally as far as clock management, coverages, protections etc but still believe he can take us to the promise land eventually. https://youtu.be/2hMMqc6Soes?si=jKdG0rUPZ5UbDTZT
  2. Goosby is in his third year in the program.
  3. https://youtu.be/2hMMqc6Soes?si=wZ2Nog1UEU01LcbB Aaron Murray breaks down Archs eyes and the Texas offense.
  4. Why don't you think he has the measurements to play tackle at 6'8 360 lbs? I see him as a Cam Williams low end or Bryant McKinney high end. On the interior I think it's tough for him against shorter guys on the interior who can get off quicker when his hands in the ground. I view Daniel Cruz, Jackson Christian, Hutson, Campbell , Robertson and Nate Kibble as their best bets as prototype guards. Goosby, Baker, Brooks as their best tackles but I could be wrong.
  5. Texas needs Lou Brown and Taylors leadership! 😂 images.mp4
  6. Nick Brooks should never play guard in my opinion. He is too tall to deal with the lateral speed of interior defenders coming up out of his stance. Brooks should solely be developed at tackle. Any thoughts on Brooks at guard?
  7. Lagway limping and couldn't stop him or sack him. Today was the ultimate kick in the nuts. Feel like the coaching staff has their heads in the clouds with little hope that they understand how to right this ship. They constantly act like everything is dandy. It reminds me of people saying Biden was sharp as a tack.
  8. Brady Sarkisian would be starting at left guard. Might actually be an upgrade.
  9. Even if they were to lose, the fact that they're losing this way where the games aren't even fun to watch has been painstakingly brutal. I can't stand the lack of simplicity and that everything this offense does, even when successful, is overwhelmingly complex at least from an execution standpoint for these kids. I'm a Keep It Simple Stupid guy.
  10. He's had some tough luck but he's a warrior, a leader, and maybe a hammy to rest until the knee is truly ready is a blessing in disguise. He also was a major part of cheering on his girl and the softball team to a natty 😂. His time is coming, he honestly looked better than I expected him to look as he was playing like a major contributor immediately this season. That pass block against Ohio state week one was ballsy.
  11. Do you think Oklahoma State would take him off our hands for us?
  12. Peyton always seemed to put too much pressure on himself and press in some of the biggest games, even as a pro. Tennessee was able to finally win one once he left and Tee Martin took over. Hopefully Arch can settle in early and find a comfort zone. I'm confident this Florida offense won't be sparking the scoreboard like Spurriers old teams. Hopefully Archie can enjoy this one.
  13. Texas 31 Florida 14
  14. Absolutely correct. Hammys tie into the ligaments of the knee down to the feet. It sucks he misses going back to Florida for a game but patience is a virtue. He needs to be 100% with his hamstring recovery. Does OTF know if his knee surgery was a cadaver graft or did they use his own hamstring graft?
  15. I didnt think the expectations were too lofty I just think the pressure got to him early and is a part of his maturation process. Generally when a guy over performs we say he will regress to the mean. In Archs case it was the opposite. You dont dominate and flash like he did if you don't have IT. Arch is progressing to his mean and should steadily reach a trajectory even higher than any QB Texas has had since VY.
  16. I wish the NFL had a stat like baseball of catch probability. His tracking on that ball was elite. Teams may try to avoid throwing at him but like Sean Taylor back in the day the range, length, closing speed and athleticism enables him to get to balls that he shouldn't get to, that other people simply can't get to.
  17. I believe they do have an ice hockey team. I'm a Bruins and Penguins fan but might have to convert to Dallas, my neighbor loves the stars. Florida remains the team to beat.
  18. The guys who take the picture at the fountain with sark end up being Longhorns.
  19. Has Texas been communicating with Dawson Battie?
  20. I believe he's a redshirt junior
  21. I was up in fort worth for a game two weeks ago ended up at a place called The Truck Yard. They had a seating section upstairs with about ten TVs all different games on and I sat with a few other Longhorns fans that were up there for a rangers game. They have good beer and a bunch of food options downstairs. Probably not the answer you're looking for but it was a cool place to have a few cold ones and watch the games.
  22. My 3 game balls go to Arch, McDonald and Wingo. Jelani has been ridiculous so far. Looking like an AA.
  23. If they were to have gone to the portal for a RB I'd have preferred Ahmad Hardy
