  1. A high chopper off the bat of Jonah Williams results in an infield single. It's first and third for the Longhorns with no outs and Mendoza up.
  2. Gasparino reaches second base with a steal. Nice throw by the catcher, but Gasparino's slide broke it up.
  3. Three Longhorns have reached base, all thanks to free passes (one HBP, two BB).
  4. Saunier strikes out Payne and gets Walker to ground out to second to get out of the inning. The free pass doesn't come back to bite Texas.
  5. A sacrifice bunt by Dutka puts a runner in scoring position with one out. Payne comes to the plate with Roper on second.
  6. Saunier plunks Roper to open the third. Huskies get the leadoff runner on base.
  7. A defensive swing by Borba results in a ground ball to first. He's retired and the Longhorns go down in order in the second.
  8. Rodriguez grounds out to short. One down. And as I typed that, Flores gets retired in foul territory.
  9. Rodriguez, Flores and Borba are due up in the second.
  10. Saunier induces an infield popout to end the top of the second. HCU strands a pair as we head to a scoreless bottom of the second.
  11. I'm being told that this was the plan: for Walker to go through the HCU order once before making it a bullpen game. That was the plan for Tennessee, but Walker was on a roll and, obviously, Texas wasn't too concerned with the outcome in Hoover.
  12. Borba slips trying to get to a slow roller. It's a single for Halligan and that ends the day for Walker. Schloss is going with Grayson Saunier.
  13. Leiterman chops one back to the mound and is retired at first base. HCU with a runner on second and two outs.
  14. 17 and Grayson Saunier is up in the bullpen.
  15. It's a 15-pitch inning and counting for Walker.
  16. The Huskies have a runner on base. Walker couldn't quite get to Bard's ground ball and Flores couldn't run up on it in time to make that play at first. It's scored as a single.
  17. You appreciate a pitcher who can field his position. Walker retires Hendricks after a competitive AB.
  18. The call is confirmed. A 9-2 double play gets HCU out of the jam and abruptly ends the bottom of the second for Texas.
