    Big season for Jeff Banks' unit coming up. A little concerned about Gianni Spetic's accuracy, but the leg power is there for sure. While I don't think Mac Chiumento can replicate what Jack Bouwmeester did, hopefully he is better than Michael Kern was two seasons ago. I feel good about their long snapper Trey DuBuc.

    The only things Texas softball hasn’t done since joining the SEC is win an SEC regular season championship and beat OU in a best two out of three series (regular season or NCAA tournament). But I wouldn’t underestimate OU as they have stacked multiple #1 high school recruiting classes and have won back to back SEC regular season championships and won an SEC tournament co-championship in their first season in the league. They just haven’t had the pitching needed to continue their dominance in the NCAA tournament and continue stacking national titles. Oklahoma has been Texas softball’s version of Georgia. I’d love to see another OU-UT WCWS Final to see if OU is still Texas’ boogeywoman or if Texas is just that program in college softball now.

    Very good post. I think football ends the big three sports’ national championship drought if they beat Ohio State in week 2. Basketball has a shot at a Final Four run if they stay healthy and get a favorable draw in their bracket. Baseball can make it back to Omaha and finish the job depending on what they do in the portal. Just a fun time to follow Longhorn athletics. This is the best stretch of Longhorn athletics since the 2001-02 to 2005-06 seasons.

    Adding "assistant coach of a 3-peat Texas softball team" to his resume is a heckuva sales pitch to make. Could be a springboard to him getting a HC gig at a power conference program.

    Are there any sites out there similar to 247 or On3/Rivals that list team recruiting rankings for women's indoor volleyball?

    Plus, it seems like White has Glasco's number. Talent is about even for both teams, White just has a better feel for the game than Glasco does. I'm more curious to see how Gasso bounces back at OU after two seasons of NCAA tournament regression.

    Yeah it wouldn’t surprise me if White closes shop now. Maybe they get another arm to add depth in the bullpen with Kavan, Lincoln, Wells, Doty, and Gonzales. Like you said, I could see them putting underclasswomen out there in the outfield spots. This is where balancing utilizing the portal vs development of high school recruits comes into play. If there’s an instant impact player out there they like that could fill one of those spots, I’m sure they would add them if the fit is right. But still have to recruit and develop players they sign out of high school.

    Need at least one of the big three to bring it home in 2026-27. Even just being one of the final two teams standing would be nice. It's been so long.

    Do you take the money that Tech is throwing at you, or do you take less money at Texas and potentially be a key cog in a run at a 3-peat and possibly the best season in Texas softball history? She would be the Cam Coleman level addition for Texas softball in the portal if she chooses them. Tough call to make.
