  1. I’m going to go with James Peoples, up the middle on the 2 yard line after a short field from a Jermaine Matthews Jr int from Arch.
  2. I don’t know anything about this guy, but Sark is one of the best, if not the best play callers in the sport, so I appreciate Ohio State bringing in more NFL guys to study Sark’s offense. At least I assume this is a direct result of playing Texas week one.
  3. The IOL should be the strength, but we feel very confident in our OT’s as well. IOL and OT’s have quality depth as well. That doesn’t mean they can hold up for an entire game against Texas’ defense, but we feel the OL will be better than last season, and potentially one of Ohio State’s best in a decade plus.
  4. When Ohio State fans hate on Bjork, they aren’t taking account of hires like this. This is something Ohio State rarely did at this point in the off season before Bjork. Ohio State is spending money, just not on unproven high school recruits. Some Ohio State fans are slow to adapt that there are other ways to spend money.
  5. That would be unusual for Day. Most believe he’ll announced QB1 at his Monday, 8/18 or Tuesday, 8/19 press conference. That lines up with the time frame he has announced all other QB competition winners, aside from Kyle McCord & Devin Brown two seasons ago.
  6. In my opinion, 1, 2, and 3 biggest concern is at QB. Now don’t take that as JS & LK have looked bad, but all reports they both look very capable of being QB1 at Ohio State. It’s more the fear of “what if…” After that, really just DT depth. Ohio State (just like Texas is) is loaded everywhere else and depth to spare.
  7. Don’t pay attention to that. Those are the same Ohio State fans that blame someone for every recruit lost. “Oh we lost a recruit to Texas, only because they outbid us” Bjork’s been crushing it at Ohio State, but he came into a much different culture at Ohio State than the one at Texas A&M.
  8. Sark is a masterful play caller and Texas has talent everywhere so it could happen. It won’t be easy though as Ohio State’s secondary should be elite once again.
  9. I think a big difference with the Ohio State team that Texas faced in the Cotton Bowl and the Ohio State team they will face on 8/30 is that they brought in the #1 TE transfer from Purdue (Max Klare). It has been quite some time since Ohio State has had a receiving TE on his level. My hope is that when Texas blankets JJ Smith, it’ll open up the seams to hit Klare. In my opinion, Ohio State has the #1 WR room and the #1 TE room in the country.
  10. I can respect that. Ryan Day isn’t the type of coach to pull a QB once he’s made a decision though. So assuming one of the QB’s win the competition in fall camp, they would have to show no progress over several games before Day made the switch. He is very patient with his QBs, it seems like Sark is as well not giving into the pressure to replace Ewers with Arch. I do think we will see LK in this game, maybe some redzone to open up a new dynamic with the offense. LK is 6’3” 215lbs and much more athletic than Sayin.
  11. I don’t fault you at all for being confident. I just think Ohio State’s offensive line is going to negate some of that. Especially up the middle.
  12. Unfortunately, you will not see me. My future Buckeye will be born that weekend so I am selling my season tickets 😞
  13. I just can’t imagine Michigan with a true freshman QB going into OU and beating them. I know OU is only -2.5, so Vegas thinks it’ll be close, but I can’t see them winning.
  14. Henderson & Judkins were elite. Peoples is going to be special as well. I wouldn’t sleep on Peoples.
  15. That’s fair, but Texas also can’t expect to hold Jeremiah Smith to 1 catch for 3 yards either.
  16. By all indications, both of those guys are living up to their potential and both will be starters at some point in their career. Ohio State doesn’t have Texas linebackers, but that room is absolutely stacked. It might be a couple seasons before Pettijon is a starting linebacker.
  17. Just my opinion, but I’m very high on this years Ohio State team. I think if Sayin (or Keinholtz) turns out to be as advertised, I think Ohio State is as good as they were last season. It doesn’t mean they’ll repeat, odds are they won’t. But this team is loaded with talent, and experienced talent as well. So is Texas btw, which is what makes this the greatest week one game in the history of the sport imo
  18. Yes, and it will take a Herculean effort to beat the Longhorns, even in The Shoe
  19. I don’t wanna talk about it lol To this day that was the hardest loss I’ve ever taken as a Buckeye fan
  20. Very interesting! I also love the stat that Ryan Day is 70-6 against non-Michigan teams, a 92% winning percentage.
  21. That’s funny, we have two very confident fan bases. I see it as 31-17 Ohio State. One fan base is going to be in for a hell of a letdown. Hopefully it isn’t us once again in Columbus 😞 Damn you Vince Young!!
  22. How are you guys feeling about your OL? From a distance, I look at Texas replacing 4/5 starters from last year and the backup RT getting lost for the season, and I think there’s no way they get the better of Ohio State’s defense. Are Ohio State fans wrong for feeling this way? It doesn’t seem like UT fans or the national media have the same concerns, so maybe I’m missing something.
  23. What about for Texas fans? Where are you guys the most and least confident at this point in fall camp?
  24. Our concerns going into fall camp were QB, RB, and DL. From everything that’s been reported, the running backs (James Peoples from San Antonio will be RB1 with CJ Donaldson Jr, transfer from WVU, as RB2) have been impressive and the defensive end room is talented and deep. There still isn’t any depth at DT. The starters (Eddrick Houston & Kayden McDonald) are very good, but if one of them get injured, or when they need to take plays off, Texas should have a pretty big advantage on the interior when they have the ball. So I will say our biggest concerns are 1. Neither of the QBs are experienced, will they be ready for Texas’ defense week one? Or will they look completely out of their element. 2. DT depth 3. Matt Patricia being the DC. I would say #1 and #2 and then there’s a pretty big gap between those two and our third biggest concern.
