  1. In all seriousness, Ohio State has NFL wide receivers in Innis and Tate BUT they are not burners and they are not genetic freaks. I would do the exact same thing Texas did in the sugar bowl, I wouldn’t change a thing
  2. They should focus on Carnell Tate and Brandon Innis. Jeremiah Smith is overrated. Put Anthony Hill on him!
  3. Yup, 100%. If Texas rattles him early it’s going to be very hard for Ohio State to move the ball.
  4. I think that the play calling, offensive line, tight ends, and wide receivers will cover up a lot of his inexperience.
  5. Ohio State’s offensive line will be as good or better than the one Collin Simmons & Anthony Hill Jr faced in the Cotton Bowl, for better or for worse. Simmons had 4 tackles and zero sacks or tackles for loss. I wouldn’t expect much different on 8/30 TBH. Ohio State should have one of the best offensive lines in CFB this season. Also, Ohio State had the #1 D in the country last year, Texas may be #1 this season, but Ohio State will be 1B.
  6. I don’t know but Day definitely wants his QB’s playing inside of the pocket. I would think more Dwayne Haskins/CJ Stroud than Justin Fields
  7. The only things that have been reported out of Ohio State’s camp is pretty much what has been said about Sayin since he was the #1 QB recruit, which is that he has been processing and getting the ball out very quick and accurately and that he has a strong arm. Other than that, there hasn’t been much reporting on whether he’s had his struggles or even if he’s been dominant. Just that he’s been good.
  8. My personal opinion, and I’m sure this is where I’ll get booted from this forum (which has been awesome by the way), is that Arch isn’t nearly prepared to face a defense like Ohio State as many Texas fans (or national media) believe he is. My opinion is that Julian Sayin will leave 8/30 getting all of the hype that many believed would go to Arch. Just my biased two cents
  9. Yeah for sure. Regardless, a real game against Texas’ defense is a hell of a lot different than practice reps. So even if he has been amazing in camp, doesn’t mean he’ll be amazing on 8/30.
  10. If Lagway’s even healthy at that point
  11. He’s bigger than Baker Mayfield and Kyler Murray
  12. The same can be said for Texas’ offense. It’ll come down to who makes the first big mistake, my money is on Arch making the first big mistake 😉
  13. That has not been reported anywhere and is completely made up.
  14. Is this two of the past three #1 QB recruits going head to head?
  15. As an Ohio State fan it makes me happy that he gets two full weeks of all of the QB1 reps before facing Texas.
  16. Ryan Day’s press conference is today at 11:30am EST. Many believe he will announce QB1 at that time. Julian Sayin is still believed to be the overwhelming favorite.
  17. Especially tough because Justice Haynes left for Michigan in the portal.
  18. Also, Larry Johnson expands the DL rotation based on how many guys he has that has earned playing team. If there are only one or two backups that are ready to play at a high level, there won’t be much rotation. Historically LJ prefers to rotate often, which early in his tenure made Buckeye fans mad because we didn’t want Joey Bosa or Chase Young, etc taken off the field.
  19. This isn’t accurate at all. Please do not forget that Larry Johnson is an elite DL coach, a better DL coach than Knowles is a DC, and Knowles is a damn good DC. The reason Knowles left is because Penn State offered him $3M/year, which Ohio State was never going to match that, nor should they have.
  20. The story changed way before Knowles left. We didn’t know how reckless Knowles was until he faced more physical run games in the B1G. Knowles ran a 3-3-5, Ohio State’s roster was always built to run a 4-2-5. LJ wanted more aggressive DL, Knowles wanted his DL to contain more. Once Day interjected, Sawyer took off.
  21. Knowles was reckless before Ohio State with his blitzing and scheme, he over corrected after he was torched at Ohio State his first season and instead played conservative and simply relied on his players to “out athlete” other teams, which worked better until we faced equally as good of offenses like Oregon.
  22. This was from an Ohio State insider from Letterman Row after today’s scrimmage - 1. still see Sayin as QB1 after today. Would be surprised if he’s not the guy. Heard Lincoln had some really strong throws throughout the day but hearing the expectation is Sayin 2. The running backs and rushing attack continues to look like a strength of this team 3. still looking like the OL is (L to R) Siereveld Montgomery Hinzman Tegra and Daniels with Onianwa as the 6th man
  23. Yeah, Buckeye Nation is quick to blame the low hanging fruit, which is LJ due to his age and perceived lack of recruiting ability. As more and more reports came out it was widely understood that it was Knowles who was holding the D back. This came to be understood way before he left for Penn State.
  24. The issue with Knowles is that the defense didn’t become what it was last season until Ryan Day stepped in and made him change the way he called the game. Which was Day wanted Knowles to bring more pressure and be more creative with his blitz packages. It was the Oregon loss that brought about the change and you could see the difference in the second game against Oregon.
  25. It is, but another set of eyes scouting Sark’s tendencies can only be a good thing. All reports out of fall camp is that the defense should be elite again.
