  1. 34-35% range second half of season after he gets acclimated
  2. And he signed 5 HS kids this class. These guys still want and need to have HS development players More roster balance over time
  3. Not a knock on Weaver, but Texas wants a different type of player long term. Teams didn't guard Weaver on the offensive end in the NCAA Tournament. Texas can't have that and get where they want to ultimately go. Texas has to have five players on the court that teams have to defend.
  4. The injury part is interesting. I've said a couple of times ... he had a non-contact knee injury scare around practice two or three this year. The initial reaction coming out of the building was they feared he could have season ending. It obviously wasn't, and was more of a scare. He has one more year of college hoops, so around 3 mill left while also taking into account what injury could do to draft stock. If you go in first round, 6-7 mill guaranteed and likely 13-15 on first contract.
  5. Maybe … but what if Rory had driven it well too? Rory was -12 after two rounds and 90th in driving accuracy
  6. Maybe be a combo forward type over small forward Looking at different options for best fit and need
  7. No way to know that right now He’s slightly ascending in mocks ahead of combine The NBA is the dream, and he’s got legit shot to stay in Talked to NBA scout of a team that won’t draft him (not position of need) over the weekend … that franchise has him as late first rounder right now. We shall see
  8. For anyone wondering if Punch will have a transition or if the SEC will provide something tougher for Punch next year ... I'm not one of those. Big 12 is very high level at the top, and with bigs and skilled 4's. Some of his games... 24 points, 10 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks, 1 steal vs. Kansas 19 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks, 2 steals vs. Florida 17 points, 9 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 blocks, 2 steals vs. Wisconsin 20 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assists, 5 blocks, 1 steal at Kansas 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 steals vs Arizona 16 points, 5 assists, 1 block vs. Houston 16 points, 13 rebounds, 2 assists, 3 blocks in NCAA Tournament vs Ohio State Had some tougher games too, but overall vs. NCAA Tournament teams he averaged: 12.8 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.9 blocks, 1.0 steals in 13 games
  9. Posted this morning ... NBADraft.net 2027 mock draft Matas 29th in first round David Punch 36th in second round https://www.nbadraft.net/nba-mock-drafts/?year-mock=2027 Those two guys will appear on a number of mock's for 2027
  10. Not necessarily Texas is going to have to make a decision on that vs versatile combo forward Not unlimited NIL
  11. Absolutely Texas would start five likely future NBA draft picks
  12. I would say this again … probably need to start leaving the big name guys left in the portal alone. All the names still being thrown around would be a talent collection without the minutes to go round and a 20+ mill team (certainly not happening at Texas) Texas has four starters plus three guys that will factor in different roles already. It’s all fits for rounding out team now … May only be 2-3 guys left now (depending on what Swain ends up doing). those are… 1. guard that is a shot maker/perimeter threat with enough size Likely - big combo forward that can shoot it well enough, and provide some versatility from a lineup perspective probably - backup center That will get Texas to 10. Then you see what happens with Swain first before any other moves
  13. Shot maker/perimeter threat with enough size combo forward that can shoot it well enough probably one more role player guard Now it’s about finding fits to build the best team … not collect talent
  14. That g-league guy isn't one factoring in for real - at this point. See if it changes
  15. I would say ... I bet he improves shooting it from 3 next season in year three. They need him to be at 32-33% ... but Punch will absolutely help Matas maximize because he's a very good passer as a face up 4, and can put the ball on the deck vs. 4's to create rotation. Texas will add another perimeter threat at guard. And Bo Ogden will absolutely provide perimeter threat in his double digit minute role year one.
  16. I'll say this ... Texas really likes where John Clark is headed. 6-9 and strong. Can defend and rebound at the Texas level. Can play some backup 5 at times, but is more of a 4. Has to keep developing offensive game facing basket. Lewis O. is a high-level shot blocker. So Texas thinks he can help in spurts after a summer of development. Legit 7-0.5
  17. Not likely. Not unlimited $$$ Texas still has a plan if Swain ended up coming back. And one without him ... so it might play out into late May
