  1. I feel like they have under achieved relative to their talent. I just don't think he's a good game day coach. His teams tend to play undisciplined at critical moments instead playing to their strengths. But if I were them I would not start over yet. Give him another year.
  2. In my eyes it is consistently finishing in the upper half of the conference, making the tournament, and occasionally making it to the second weekend, with - and this is the important part - a roster that he 100% constructed. But, I should add, this is not bar the CDC has said he uses. He's said numerous times that he wants a top 10 program. A top 10 program does more than that.
  3. Oh no. A player is dropping in the rankings!
  4. You can take the trash out of the garbage but you can't take the garbage out of the trash.
  5. They could play again in a couple months.
  6. We gave up 5 earned runs. We dropped a routine fly ball that led to 2 runs. This is against a team that's hitting .330 and scoring 10 runs a game on the year. Not awful. Average. We have a bullpen full of jags.
  7. Not Blake, but I believe the answer is 20-27.
  8. I agree with everything he said. He did not say it's awful. It's a notch below the top programs which is unacceptable for Texas. This year, whiffing in the portal has as much to do with injuries and people quitting as it does with neglect. And anyone is free to give a large donation to the TOF and tag it for baseball.
  9. Probably registering at freshman orientation. Never seen so much tail.
  10. "Awful" is a bit much. It sure doesn't look good as it should be at Texas right now. Injuries have been part of that (some happened too late to react in the portal). Youth is also a factor, as the guys who have to step in the for the injured guys are young. But yes, some of the guys don't appear good enough to win with.
  11. In the last meeting Hunter had one of his best games. Against their guards, this has to happen again. Also, in the last game their 7 footer didn't do much. He has really come on recently. Shedrick has to be able to help out against that guy. If neither of these two things happen, we will get blown out.
  12. I think Shaw is being misused. He's not a closer. He's a one inning setup guy. That said, I agree he doesn't look better after the injury. His velocity seems to have lost a tick and slider not quite as sharp.
  13. He wasn't that great last year. It's early but his ERA and BAA are actually down from last year. He's performing about as expected.
  14. Those fans are pieces of sh t and won't be apologizing.
  15. Convenient to say after his best game of the year. The reality is, coming in he was shooting 20% from beyond the arc. That's not promising.
  16. 4.32 sounds about right. He's faster than Mitchell but not by much.
  17. Time will tell. I do agree he does the Barnes thing of allowing runs to go on with no time out, which annoys me. He also plays non-scoring lineups too often but frankly it's hard to find a scoring lineup with this bunch. My biggest criticism so far is roster construction. He brought in some transfers who frankly aren't that good. Weaver isn't that good but at least he has insane energy and athleticism. Abmas can score but is a liability on defense. All the other guys he brought in are pure jags.
  18. His "offense" is about having the two most talented players create for themselves. It's basically two man game. He wants the ball in the hands of Abmas and Disu and then asks them to create opportunities to shoot. When the opponent has a good defensive plan and personnel for those two, it leads to helter skelter, because we don't have any other players who can consistently score. We need a talent infusion of players who can put the ball in the basket. We are also small as in we get pushed around under the basket. Onyemi being unplayable has hurt, and Shedrick needs to bulk up.
  19. He's freaking huge. Possibly the biggest person to ever play football at Texas?
  20. Now this would be an interesting topic.
  21. Also, really enjoy, the show but...talking about who on the current roster could be an NFL hall of fame talent is cringey. I know this is just entertainment, but don't put that on these guys, It's way, way too early in their careers to have any clue about that.
  22. Phillip Rivers is not a good comp for Quinn. Rivers was a big, tall, strong dude who drove the ball. He was hard to sack as a young guy and a very good athlete. None of these attributes really apply to Quinn.
