  1. Thanks for posting this, seems like everyone likes to kick him on the way out but he did great here at Texas and I'm very thankful for him. Wish him nothing but the best and he will 100% land on his feet somewhere.
  2. So who do you fire for the average to below average offense? Apparently that is acceptable but "good" defense isn't "good" enough? When PK's D carried this team in '23 and '24. Even in parts of '25. Yes he has his issues, but unless there behinds the scenes issues, I don't see why this is a good thing. Has Muscahmp coached defense at a high level in recent years? That's a genuine question not me throwing shade. Anyway, best of luck to PK. Loved what he did at Texas and despite his misgivings, was never a problem at Texas. Hope he lands somewhere and succeeds. Let's see what Muschamp can do.
  3. I think this is more to what Gerry has mentioned several times. You need to fit guys to your scheme, but what is your scheme? I'm not sure Sark is a power football type of guy, he's very finesse but he wants the appearance of being a downhill running team. Physical, etc. As you said, he does a lot of things great, that is undeniable.
  4. Okay be real with me, how do I pronounce his name? I've never seen Tawfiq before.
  5. Hope he does well, would love to see him have a great NFL career.
  6. Just a bit off topic, but I'm playing a Dynasty in CFB 26 right now and the transfer portal goes crazy there. Clemson went undefeated and won the natty in '26, they had Sellers at QB, Hardy and Bothwell at RB and Williams at WR from the portal lol. On top of two already good WR's they had. Dabo might not like the portal IRL, but his video game version sure does love it.
  7. Couldn't go wrong with any of these guys. I hope Texas has been backdooring someone, like every other team seems to be doing. Can't afford to miss on any position of need this off season.
  8. Best of luck in the draft, Jaylon.
  9. Obviously RB coach, they already have a HC.
  10. The key for Jackson is to get him to actually play like a WR and not an athlete who plays WR. The talent is there, just needs to be pushed in the right direction. The light switch moment, if you will. Whether that happens is up to Wingo, of course. Whatever happens though, they need a playmaker on O to help Arch out.
  11. I think if all the WR's have a good off-season with Arch, that should help. I also think if you can grab a proven guy in the portal who isn't a top tier guy like Coleman, for a good price, that would also help. It's more of a luxury than a need, imo. But we need a playmaker somewhere on O, Wingo was it sometimes but nowhere else really. Perhaps Bishop makes massive strides early on and gets playing time? Maybe one of the current Fr step up and contribute, who knows. LB is a whole other thing. With Lefau now gone, that leaves us in a bad spot, imo. Need to hit on the portal, unless they've been backdooring some guys.
  12. Wish him all the best, that Miami OL is pretty bad, so he'll have his work cut out for him.
  13. I have a hard time believing Florida of Sumrall are that stupid to pay this much for a back up QB. My guess is they would go at Mensah from Duke. He played for Sumrall and was at Tulane two years ago.
  14. Also would like to add, if you push Spence back to LB, paired with Smith, that leaves more room for Jackson, Umeozulu and Vasek to contribute from the Edge and allows you to utilize Spence more in conjunction with Jackson and Simmons on the field. I do wonder if they want to move Spence back to LB full time or if they're content with him at Edge? He seems more like a natural fit at LB than he does Edge. Seems like him and Moore should've swapped roles this year. Anyway, be interesting to see what they do at S to pair with McDonald, assuming Filsaime.
  15. I've said this elsewhere, but it appears that Sark isn't messing around when it comes to the portal or 2026. He's not wanting to make the mistakes he did last off-season. I respect that, hope they've been scouting guys or backdooring stuff. Would hate for them not to hit on guys in the portal, with a short window. I'm very curious to see what Texas does in the portal. Thanks for the great piece once again, Jeff.
  16. Going to be hard to keep him, when their HC is in the playoffs and they have no position coach or anything lined up yet. Unless I'm not in the loop and he has been hiring staff at Florida while working on the playoffs at Tulane. Either way, I'd be stoked with Baugh or Lacy, both are amazing, imo.
  17. Why would they promote from within? I guess back to 8 & 4 next year lol.
  18. I'd say they'd want at least 3 guys with starting experience at G, C, G before they go looking at guys like Carter. We have a bunch of guys with no starting experience already. Would much rather grab some beef from the portal that has said experience first.
  19. What are his run blocking #'s?
  20. This to go with the 6'7 G posted beforehand. Some interesting guys to look at.
  21. I think it depends on what Robertson does, but this guy would be an intriguing take for C. Then again I don't know anything about him. Lol.
  22. If he had a better QB, he probably would've scored a few more TD's.
  23. There's a few positions coaches that have been floating around in the Texas talking head sphere about who will be not returning for the 2026 season, Akina is one of those names that I've heard pop up quite a bit. Most think he'll hang it up, rather than get fired.
