Snap Judgments: Texas ends non-conference play with a much-needed confidence boost
Going away when? It's still a thing right now. There has been no official call for that. If Owens got passed up so be it, I haven't said anything to the contrary, just repeating what the guys on the commentary team said during the game. Obviously parroting what Coach Sark himself said.

Nvm, you already answered this one.

You mean the guy who just got here as a Fr?

Snap Judgments: Texas ends non-conference play with a much-needed confidence boost
Do you think Robertson to C permanently and Hutson back to LG would help? Robertson seems to play the C spot way more naturally than Hutson does.

Guys on the commentary team mentioned how Sark wanted to see Lacey in this game, could be that he wants to red shirt him.

Much better overall from Manning. He looked looser and less over thinking things. I will also say that goal line blocking is still an issue, RB's still getting hit in the backfield, etc. But that's just being nit picky but is something that needs to be addressed. Defense played lights out, though I'm still concerned with consistent pass rush, they look good in spurts but I thought we'd see more from them this year. McDonald is an absolute athletic freak. That INT he had was insane lol. My only nit picky stuff was the OL playing poorly at times against a porous defense but other than that, everything looked better and more in sync.

Jermaine Bishop - 5 TDs
Yeah saw the game against The Woodlands, he 100% needs to be a WR or whatever. Absolutely electric.

Offensive Coaching Staff
Well, if he is fired and Sark makes that move, it could be really good. We'll see how things play out. I think regardless of how this season goes, it might be something Coach Sark just needs to make a move on sooner rather than later.

Offensive Coaching Staff
He runs a pretty similar scheme to Sark but I doubt he's going to want to go from Miami HC in the NFL to Texas OC. But I could be wrong. Either way, Coach Sark isn't going to do that, at least from what we've been told numerous times.

It's a good week for the Texas pass rush to get better at getting home
Yeah he didn't even have a recorded tackle last week. His first two weeks, were pretty sub-par. Thought with more playing time he'd thrive but even if teams are focusing on him, the others haven't really flashed much either. I understand we're saying teams are taking him away or getting it out quick but even still, I don't see much pressure coming from our edges.

Kyle Flood has got to go
I don't disagree with what you're saying but many of t hese guys have been in the same system for 2-3 years now. I also understand not having experience, but Campbell and Hutson have a ton of snaps between the two of them. now if you want to say Hutson is starting for the first time at C, I'll go with that. I just don't think people expected it to look this bad. Inexperienced, yes. But what's the point of having a system in place if you still look this bad executing out there? Campbell is still making the same mental mistakes and errors he was when he first started as a Soph.

Kyle Flood has got to go
I wouldn't have a clue about that stuff, I've always heard a ton of praise for Becton.

Score prediction time
I saw they are down to the 3rd or 4th string QB now. Statistically they are near or at the bottom in every defensive category. If you can't at least score 50 on these guys, that's not good.

Injury Intel + OL Updates (Thursday AM)
But when does this become a reflection of Coach Flood? I mean guys like Hutson, Campbell, hell even Stroh, Neto, etc. They've all been in the program 3-4 years now. Why are they still making these types of errors and not playing better? Stroh and Neto I can understand, not having a ton of playing experience but Campbell and Huston have both played since they were Fr/So. They have booked a ton of snaps. Baker I thought would be playing a little better. There seems to be a lack of mean streak in these OL. No one wants to go maul someone and make them eat dirt.

Injury Intel + OL Updates (Thursday AM)
I know it's a new position for Hutson and I've been a defender of his but he looks even worse at C than he did at G. Maybe that experiment isn't going the way Flood wanted? Maybe there needs to be a shuffling there? Also, the fact that Mosley still isn't ready to go, is concerning. Did we bring him in just to ride the bench? Also, we always hear that Manning is having a good week of practice and then he gets out of the field and yeah...lol.

Also, I want to see the Texas pass rush in this one. SHSU is apparently an Air Raid team, so no excuses not to see more pass rush in this one. Though they also apparently are down to their like 3rd or 4th string QB, so who knows on that one...lol.

How Arch Manning’s first 5 starts compare to uncles Peyton, Eli and grandfather Archie
Let's hope he finishes the season stronger than Uncle Eli lol.

Joel Klatt on Arch - promising? (feeling a little better after listening)
This years team could look the same and his poor play would still be a problem. I'm not on team bench him, but he needs to put it together because he is bringing this offense down. Yes t here are other elements not doing their part, but he has been the most surprising and disappointing part of it so far.

Hero Kanu one and done?
But he's already played against a great Ohio State OL? I don't think it's jumping the gun. There is a lot of season left, but he's been playing well, so far.

Joel Klatt on Arch - promising? (feeling a little better after listening)
I'm not off team Arch, but he definitely needs to figure it out and show it in a game. I'm of the belief he'll get it going and maybe that is when all the other experienced guys get back. But he needs to stop missing easy/simple passes/reads. That is what is killing us right now. I don't want to see him benched, I want to see him work through his issues but it's been the same thing for 3 straight games. We can blame the talent around him but we were told this is a talented roster, top 5 in the country. Not so sure I would agree about the offensive side of the ball. At least not so far. I'm hoping the O can turn it around but my optimism seems to squished every game.

Pretty Ugly Running Game Stat
I was listening to the Coaches speak on this yesterday, I think it was. Coach Erwin and Coach Shipley. Both seemed concerned about the OL, which is natural given the performance but the development is a concern, too. Considering we were lead to believe that this was Coach Flood's strong suit.

Pretty Ugly Running Game Stat
Thanks for reminding me of that, sometimes I think I should go back and watch these games to job my memory a bit more. Yes losing that does hurt but you'd think the guys we have stepping up would be playing a lot better. Considering 2 of the 3 have a ton of starting snaps. Another saw live action against some tough teams last year, etc. Just my opinions anyway, they don't mean much in the grand scheme of things. I'm still reserving my full judgement till the end of the year but so far they have been inconsistent and unimpressive up front. As for losing Blue, I do agree with you there but doesn't that once again come back to recruiting? Why did Coach Choice and Coach Sark not do a better job there? None of the guys he recruited are speedsters, especially considering you're taking two per class while Choice was here. As you said, we should see steady improvement but I've just noticed the same things over the years. I was trying to be optimistic in game 1 when they played pretty well but the last couple of games against weaker competition they fell apart, wildly. We'll see.

Hero Kanu one and done?
I didn't realize he was a Sr, if he has a great year in 2025, I'd expect he'll flirt with the NFL, as he should.
-
Hero Kanu one and done?
Really? That's a shame, if he does continue to have a good year, he likely is gone.
