  1. Sark has given no indication that he's willing to give significant time to Arch in the current circumstances. There isn't going to be a wholesale Arch red zone or any other package. He's going with Quinn unless Quinn gets knocked out.
  2. I'm not on the Sellers bandwagon. I'll bet he suffers the proverbial sophomore slump next season.
  3. Who did Beck come back against this season other than UMass and Georgia Tech? They were down early against Florida, but not in the second half. Same thing with Tennessee. I ask again: Who played better yesterday?
  4. I disagree. Now, I said during the second bye week that Sark needed to make the switch to Arch if he wanted to have a chance at running the table and winning the national title. The only logical reason I can come up with for not making the switch is that Sark thought it might result in locker room problems, and that was worse than Quinn's down side. I hope he was right.
  5. You don't have to go to the portal to add a kicker.
  6. Why? Is he more accurate? Does he read defenses better? Does he make more plays?
  7. By the way, Quinn was the best offensive skill player for either team on the field yesterday. Itwasn't Etienne or Golden or Moore. It was Quinn. He didn't make the game winning play when he could have, but he made more big plays than anyone else.
  8. He might be, but that doesn't make him a better pick. Who was the better QB yesterday?
  9. Don't you think Sark would have already done that if he was going to?
  10. My guess is that more than a few NFL GMs will think Quinn can be a serviceable back-up, and he'll be drafted third or fourth round. I think Beck is a much bigger gamble than Quinn, He's not as accurate and he doesn't make as many good throws.
  11. I'd rather play South Carolina than Tennessee.
  12. We can change the kicker without upsetting the team much, but Sark has obviously decided he's going with Quinn barring debilitating injury. The only reason that makes much sense out of not going with Arch down the stretch was Sark was worried it would hurt the locker room.
  13. That's true, but "shouldn't" isn't available at this point. You can't ask Arch to just go win the title without giving him the time get up to speed at the end of the season. Ergo, must make the best out of Quinn. Maybe Sark will give more red zone plays to Arch, but that would be strange too.
  14. Truth is, if we're seeded five or six, the loss to Georgia in the SEC title game won't really hurt us. Fifth would probably be better, but either of those draws should set us up to make the semifinal against Georgia or Oregon.
  15. We know Sark isn't just going to replace Quinn with Arch. He missed his chance to do that during the second bye week. We must minimize mistakes, rely on our great defense, and get a kicker that can make a forty yard field goal. If we do that, we can win it all with Quinn.
  16. I'm sure that's true. While this isn't the NFL, guys are getting paid and we're talking about a possible national championship. Plenty of other CFB teams have replaced their kicker for similar reasons, just look at Arizona State.
  17. True, but they'll claim OSU's wins over Penn State and Indiana as two playoff teams outweighs Tennessee's best win over Alabama.
  18. I don't see them giving the Vols a home game against OSU, although I agree they probably should. My deal is based more on a power rankings. I'm pretty sure an objective power rankings would have Oregon, Georgia, Texas and OSU as the top four. Having said that, I don't think the committee gives a crap about being objective.
  19. They should put Georgia and Texas, along with Oregon and Ohio State, on opposite sides of the bracket.
  20. Thinking more about the future (after next season there will be a new playoff system), I'm thinking the SEC and Big 10 will kill the "committee" business. I don't think they'll go to an automatic bid system (bad publicity), but rather to a computer poll system similar to the old BCS. That can save the conference championship money game while also taking the sentimental crap for the "others" out of the equation.
  21. You can't go into the playoff with Bert Auburn as your kicker. He's less than 50% at forty yards. You just can't tolerate it. There are multiple guys available that can make a forty yard field goal. Replace Auburn and let them.
  22. I'll also say I don't buy this bad match-up talk. It's true that our run game blocking scheme doesn't match-up well with Georgia's interior defense, but it's Georgia's speed at linebacker and the edge that shuts down our run game and screen game; but Quinn threw the ball down field quite well and stepped up in the pocket just like we asked him to do. Even the lack of touchdowns didn't doom us. Bert Auburn doomed us. They didn't out physical us like they did last game. We hit harder, and we protected well enough in pass pro. Penalties (and I think there were some shenanigans) and missed field goals killed us.
  23. Notre Dame will get preferential treatment. I'm not saying that will be to the detriment of Texas. They'll do their best to put Texas in a ratings busting first game, which at this point seems most likely to be Clemson.
  24. I don't think they'll put Bama over SMU, but they might. Sankey has probably let the goobers on the committee know that if the SEC doesn't get as many as the Big 10, the SEC will take the ball and structure the playoff how they want after the current deal ends next season, which would basically kill the NCAA at that point. Definitely some intrigue here.
  25. What's going on with Bond? He's just not giving much effort. Even with a tweaked ankle, you can't simply give up on plays. Sark replaced him with Wingo for quite a long stretch. I think you send a message to him and the team by starting Wingo.
