  1. MJ says Kobe is the only player who could possibly beat him one one one.
  2. Two greatest basketball players ever at age 22. Kobe Bryant (Age 22 - 2000-01 Season): Accomplishments: Two-time NBA champion. Performance: During the 2001 playoffs, a 22-year-old Kobe averaged 29.4 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 6.1 APG, forming the league's most dominant duo with Shaq. Impact: He was already an elite two-way player and a premier scorer, often cited as having no holes in his game. YouTube +4 Kareem Abdul-Jabbar (Age 22 - 1969-70 Season): Accomplishments: Had just entered the league, meaning he had 0 championships at age 22. Performance: Kareem (then Lew Alcindor) dominated instantly, averaging 28.8 points and 14.5 rebounds in his rookie season, showcasing the most unstoppable shot in history (skyhook). Impact: He was arguably the best center in the league from day one, bringing a higher level of dominant individual efficiency than Kobe at that same age. Reddit +4
  3. Not until they get another rotational guard. This is an upgrade from Jordan Pope. Lew Alcindor (now Kareem Abdul-Jabbar) is widely considered the greatest college basketball player of all time. This is what Matas needs to think about when he says Arvydas is his favorite player.
  4. Just got a coyote off my back porch at about 180 yds with my Ruger American 6.5 Creedmoor resting on the rail. I think I'll make chili out of him.
  5. Didn't score 80 on demand. Texas didn't score 80 to get the sweet 16 this year.
  6. That's true. I'll bet they had KD and Arch talk to Johnson.
  7. Really good start. Now we need a bruiser 4 player. Contrary to what Gerry says, you ain't gotta score 80 (neither Michigan nor Florida did in the title game), but you must rebound and defend the paint.
  8. I'll believe it when it happens in the next Final Four.
  9. I'll add that while Wenbayama is really good, other players have had better numbers in a tougher league at the same age.
  10. Don't know why the NBA still has an all-defense team. NBA hasn't played defense since the Warriors won their first title in 2015 and the pencil goober offensive efficiency nerds took over. Worst thing that ever happened to basketball in history.
  11. Can't put all your eggs in the Booker basket offensively. Better get some real shooters.
  12. Obviously the walks by LaFew and Crossland lost the game. I was thinking after the second walk by LaFew that Schloss should go to Grubbs, but Grubbs has had some problems too. That said, the thing that was just a killer all game long was Borba continuously striking out and looking really bad doing it. The Aggie freshmen were infinitely better than him at the plate. That just can't happen.
  13. If the guy who pulled the sword was an actual ROTC guy, I hope he was dismissed.
  14. Can't wait to see the status of Buckyball in a couple years.
  15. It seems the key here is that locker room dynamics have more to do with this than NIL. The money in WCBB is nothing compared to football or MCBB.
  16. This stuff goes with the sport. If you consume the sport, you must take it as part of the investment.
  17. Going to checkout TexAgs this morning to gauge their level of craziness heading into the weekend.
  18. @Gerry Hamilton Jackson noted that Kobe was a better player at age 21 than Michael was at 21, partly because Kobe had skipped college and entered the NBA younger.
  19. That's kicken ass on Pippen, Iverson, and Kidd by that time.
  20. Kobe had won three nba titles by the time he was the age of Yaxel Lendeborg now.
  21. Yes, Kobe Bryant largely outplayed Allen Iverson over the course of the 2001 NBA Finals by providing elite two-way impact. While Iverson had a spectacular 48-point Game 1, Kobe averaged 24.6 points, 7.8 rebounds, and 5.8 assists, dominating after Game 1 and playing key defense on Iverson.
  22. Me neither. Graduated from Texas in 93 and went to graduate school at the University of Chicago for graduate school. I guess I lost out.
  23. My brother is a UT electrical engineer.
