  1. Past hour
  2. Heather Dinich, who’s usually pretty plugged in, has Texas at 9. If that’s the case, winning out gets you in. Lose one and it’s possible but need some luck https://www.espn.com/college-football/story/_/id/50321732/projecting-2026-playoff-top-12-week-9-cfp
  3. I think it climbs if Colin returns.
  4. Based on what? Alabama lost to teams Texas would be mocked for losing to. Ohio State literally lost to Texas head-to-head. Ole Miss lost to Texas head-to-head. If all three get ranked ahead of Texas, then apparently the games themselves are just a suggestion. I can understand debating Alabama because pollsters love Alabama. I can even understand a disagreement on resumes.... But ranking Ohio State and Ole Miss ahead of the team that beat them on the field feels like admitting head-to-head doesn't matter. Head-to-head isn't the only thing that matters, but it has to matter more than nothing. Otherwise we're rewarding hypothetical football over actual football. 🤘🏻
  5. The most wonderful time of the year.
  6. Head-to-head still has to mean something. If Texas gets ranked behind Ohio State, Ole Miss, or Tennessee after beating them, then why did we bother playing the games? Win the next few and this whole debate takes care of itself. 🤘🏻
  7. There is absolutely no chance we will be behind Ole Miss or Ohio State.
  8. Cutting off a limb doesn’t heal brain cancer.
  9. No no no it’s #fireflood
  10. In the SEC, you need a solid run game every week. i believe we have the weapons, but we are not utilizing them. We need backs who can break tackles and do not go down easily. in that category we have Terry, Cooper and Brown. Smothers has his gifts, but if you need 3 yards for a first down, he might give you 2. OL has been an issue all year in both run game and pass protection. It isn’t going away soon. If we are going to surrender gap dominance, at least give the ball to a RB who can somewhat compensate for that by breaking a tackle or two
  11. Lassina Traore vibes...
  12. No matter what you gotta fire flood after this year
  13. Before the last touchdown Manning threw, Terry and Cooper were running hard and had a jolt of energy and the line started blocking better. It really doesn't make any sense how they can still be this bad for this long now. Arch looked bloody, battered and bruised in that game, and it's a damn shame that Sark and Flood seemingly don't give a damn that their quarterback takes a beating.
  14. It's the internet position.
  15. Watched a good amount of the Texas State @ Boise State game last night. I was thinking, what if Texas hired GJ Kinne to be their real OC and offensive play caller? I'm not convinced Kinne would be a great CEO of an entire football program, but his offenses are pretty good. Have him be the "HC of the offense" and like Muschamp, bring in his own guys for his offensive staff. Obviously, this won't happen, but just a thought.
  16. Sark: “We found out about [running back] Michael Terry in the midst of all this because of the Hollywood Smothers injuries and the Derek Cooper [injury] stuff.”
  17. Historically the committee values head to head wins above quality or strength of losses.
  18. Today
  19. it seems like we'll be 9th behind Alabama but just ahead of OSU and Ole Miss. based on results, that seems the most obvious place for Texas. Alabama's win over MSU was much more impressive and they were ranked ahead of us last week (and had a bye). will be interesting to see whether Indiana drops back a place or two. it looks like there could be 5 new ranked teams this week given losses at the bottom of the rankings. Not impactful, but interesting/fun to see some new teams ranked. Iowa for sure. New Mexico? Oregon State? USC again (probably).
  20. Exactly, I get the OU loss I guess, but you can’t lose to a bad UF team at home. Especially the way you lost those games, by letting up.
  21. Based on everyone’s eyes telling them he is the best runner but him getting one carry.
  22. Gerry and CJ both said this on a couple of threads.
  23. Based on what?
  24. Apparently he is “in the dog house”. Do we have any clarification on why this is or is it just conjecture because he is healthy and not playing much?
