Reminds me of the Longest Yard where the prisoner olinemen let Burt Reynolds get annihilated.

What are the odds that every one of our OL misses their block and the center gets knocked on his rear end. This is one of those tragedies that gave way to the laughter scene in The Moneypit. I mean, what else can you do besides capitulate and laugh on the outside?

The line is giving Arch 3 seconds to throw. That is plenty of time unless we are trying to throw bombs every other play. Winning football is 4-6 yard gains every other play. Sark is the gambler at the roulette table, thinking he knows which single number is coming up next. Mannings' legs are fine, but he is going to get ding donged. It's a matter of time. He doesn't play RB very well. KJ better be ready.

Guilty. I'm the opposite of CJ.

My parents stop there for the kolaches. But for pecans and gifts for holidays, there's only one place IMO. Berdoll's does a really nice job with that. 🙂

Anger - Darrell Royal said football games are won by angry men. Anger because the fans don't think you can do the job and should get benched. Saban about Arch " the bench is a really good motivator" -

I like C Robertson - he hs a good heart but that don't get a blitzer blocked. Did Cole Hutson start the season at center last year? -
Thanks for you and Rod putting this together Jeff Funny how the "formula" basically boils down to: stop asking the offensive line to hold up forever and stop asking Arch to play hero ball every snap. Amazing what happens when the quarterback takes the layups and the offense stays on schedule. 🤘 I agree with the posters saying we don't "fix" the OL this season, we adapt to it. The article reads less like a quarterback breakthrough and more like Sark accepting reality. Quick game, screens, QB runs, and selective deep shots. Win with the team you have, not the team you wish you had.

I don't think it's a scheme change or a formula is going to fix Arch. This kid could be a superstar if he ever starts anticipating open receivers. He did it better for most of the night against Miss State and had his most efficient game of the year, however, he did go through a few series where he jumped back into the old habit of not throwing to OL is a problem, but I think you are right about Arch. The hesitancy, missing wide open receivers, and then throwing late into coverage is on him. Why that hasn't been coached out of him by now, no one knows, but when he doesn't pull the trigger early, he tends to miss wide open receivers, then gets sacked or has to scramble. Running early seems to help him some with that, but as we saw Saturday night, it still doesn't cure him 100%.

How you always know you're almost in Bastrop too. Love that place.

I believe your statement is correct. But, let's expand the "stinger" remark a bit. "We can't cut off your nose to spite your face. Todate, our inability to move the length of the field with a prolonged 'down and dirty' drive can only be accomplished with a super big play (stinger). Frankly, we have been pretty damn good at it...........but we, as Horn fans, simply are NOT accustom to this style. We don't like being pushed around and told what to do. We Are Texas. In short, I think Sark was saying let's focus less on the journey and more on the destination! (just remember that when all we had was Bijon and Roshawn, all we did was run, run, and run some more). Just do what we need to do to get to the Playoffs. -
All I can say is this: That is Rod Babers theory and it is Jeff Howe's work and words. I agree with the above. But, that doesn't mean that Sark agrees with the conclusion. Lets face it, there are plenty of Knowledgeable Fans on this website that have been saying this for Months. Bottom line is this: Arch is a 4 year player in a system that has had no turnover. He had a mentor in Quinn Ewers. He is in his 2nd year as a starter notching up I think 23 Starts now, maybe 24. If after all that, I mean that is a runway that you can land a 747 on, and Sark has only now found a formula for success for Arch Manning......I think those are your words, not Sark's. I hope Sark did not confess that......But, boy oh boy, if that is the case and Sark has only now found a formula for success, I don't know what to tell you. I mean, sacrifice a turkey early and sit on the floor in the kitchen with some cheap Bourbon and toss up some bones and see where they land. For me and I know many others, this is an obvious formula that if implemented by Sark then this Texas Team would not have lost two games to two Unranked Teams and todays Team would not be sweating The Playoffs. Hook'em!!!
