Most coaches were providing some money to athletes. Remember what Colt's wife said? We weren't immune to it. -

And I think you are a conspiracy nut who just likes to spread unfounded and unprovable rumors. -

There better not be a single offensive player at that event.

Which I'm confused about. Wasn't Sark and Floods whole philosophy to go after "big humans" but we for some reason can't just lean on teams with our "big humans" and pick up yards. I'm not sure you always want to be addressing your OL in the portal because you can't always be sure who you're getting. It's why I much prefer the recruit/develop strategy for that position. Sark likes to talk about physicality but that's really all it is, talk. It rarely ever shows up in games.

What’s crazy is the regression and still taking the position that he can do it better than anyone he could hire. I think he’s a great head coach but facts are facts about how many championship winning head coaches call plays.

Mike Elko vs TexAgs/fan base … is wild

Regretting something is not an apology, Elmo... Dude looks like the job is getting to him -
I thought this was interesting, and important given some of the challenges facing the Texas offense. Florida loves to bring pressure. I charted 39 passing plays for South Carolina in their victory in The Swamp a week ago. 12 of those 39 snaps saw Florida bringing 6+ rushers at the snap. Now, keep in my, South Carolina is very RPO heavy. So some of those triggers were the result of keys that RPOs typically bait defenders into. But, the splits between number of blitzers brought on a given pass snap is interesting. 3 or less: 4 snaps 4-man pressure: 21 snaps 5-man pressure: 2 snaps 6-men or more: 12 snaps Texas has been pressured often up the middle with the G–C–G trio being targeted. That will be an area of the game I look for Florida to test from the start. One other note on 6-man pressure packages from the UF defense – 10 of the 12 were in the first half. South Carolina led 17–10 at halftime and after two possessions, it was 24–13. The deficit took away Florida's aggressiveness. Something to keep in mind for Saturday.

Cooper 3 yard run.mp4 Why am I highlighting a 3-yard run? Derrek Cooper. Sikorski gets beat, which is a shame because Goosby and Robertson created an alley. Still, Cooper has the vision, feel, feet and burst to cut it up inside and get what he can. Sometimes, a 3-yard gain is a good play. I might be giving Cooper too much credit here, but he could be the bell cow sooner rather than later, IMO.

Cooper 16 yard run OU.mp4 Cooper's 16-yard zone run out of 11 personnel. Texas has numbers on the left side. It felt like OU was trying to adjust to Texas running more mid or inside zone. The off-tackle run was there in a big way. No split flow needed — Townsend does a great job helping create the crease. This is great execution. (Does it go for more than 16 yards if Wingo gets a better piece of Guillory? This wasn't the best blocking game for the wideouts under Sark. Texas lost the physicality battle on the perimeter.)

Baker Siani OU.mp4 For those of you who don't want me to take up for the offensive line and want me to point out what that group can do better, here you go. @Bobby Burton mentioned this play on Coffee & Football this morning. I don't need to say anything other than to tell you to watch what happens to Brandon Baker and Melvin Siani. That can't happen in short yardage. The play was over before Cooper got the handoff.

bad run 3 OU.mp4 I'm putting up this whole play for one reason: whether Arch needs to check out of this before the snap or Sark has to burn a timeout, you have to get out of a run against an 8-man box. Trying to block eight with six isn't going to turn out well. This was second-and-4 on the drive that ended with Spetic's missed field goal. Instead of checking to a pass or regrouping on the sideline, Smothers never had a chance on a play where he took a 5-yard loss and you're in third-and-10. This type of stuff can't happen, especially inside the last four minutes of regulation.

Crack Toss OU.mp4 This is the ill-fated crack-toss, which is a bad play I put on Sark for a few reasons: 1. I hate toss plays. 2. OU's safeties and linebackers fit the run so well that hitting one of these long-developing runs is a low-percentage play, IMO. 3. That's asking a lot of Robertson to get across Jackson's face and reach/scoop him. Sikorski had two red marks here, one for not getting enough of Jackson to help Robertson and for missing his block at the second level. 4. Asking Ryan Wingo to down-block on an EDGE so Goosby can pull isn't putting him in the best position to win, IMO. He and Mosley fight right here, but add this to the reasons why I'd take this off Sark's call sheet (especially when the offense is coming off the goal line) if I could. 5. I'm not sure if Mosley was supposed to work up to the safety or if that was Goosby guy, but two guys in white jerseys running into each other isn't how Sark drew this up.
