That's where the scouting department earns their big bucks.

It's easy to go P4 to P4, but there are always gems from the lower level. I always prefer the bigger school prospects.

As long as Justus Terry is in burnt orange, this one makes little sense.

Breaux weighs about 275-280 pounds. Can't have too many of those guys on your DL and Terry already has sky high expectations.

Miss St just parted ways with their WR coach. Interested to see what happens with Chris Jackson. 
 

For what it’s worth he coached up Brenan Thompson to be the number 2 WR in SEC receiving yards as well as Mario Craver last year

For what it's worth, I have been keeping a running list of prospects who have announced portal intentions that I believe to needle moving targets for Texas.

I've yet to add any offensive linemen to that list.

Obviously this isn't an exact science, nor is it indicative of what Texas will do. But as of now, I don't see any big time needle moving players so far that would be immediate plug and play options for Texas on the interior.

If and when those players enter, I will make sure mention who I believe to be immediate options.

We need a big body to clog up running lanes while also providing some disruption. We have that Purdue —> Texas DT pipeline going, so seems like a good fit.

This portal cycle is already screaming one thing: availability ≠ fit.

There’s a lot of movement, a lot of names, and a lot of folks getting excited because a recruiting profile exists. But Texas shouldn’t be shopping for interesting—we should be shopping for transformative.

As Bobby and Gerry like to say: is the juice worth the squeeze?
If the answer isn’t “this fixes a real problem immediately,” keep scrolling.

• A rotational DT who looks like three guys we already have? No squeeze.
• A WR who replicates what’s already in the room? Minimal juice.
• An OL who can’t move people off the ball? We’ve seen that movie.

The only portal additions that matter right now are:

• trench players who change the physical tone
• a RB who actually scares defenses
• veterans who reduce downside, not add learning curves

This is Arch’s window. Not a rebuild. Not a science experiment.
Take fewer swings. Make them violent.
