Both Pitt linebacker Rasheem Biles and NC State running back Hollywood Smothers have arrived on campus Saturday morning for their visits.

@CJ Vogel are both Cal and Pitt linebacker the goal? Or one or the other?

Of course we want both. They would be good for us in different ways and I remember hearing we needed like 4-6 linebackers to fit what Muschamp needs.

I’d argue the Cal LB is more needed because he plays Mike, which they don’t even have one of on the roster currently until the Florida St. backer becomes a Longhorn.

The Pitt LB is very good! I’m not saying he’s bad. I’d love to have both! But if you asked me which one I’d want Uluave. Ty’Anthony will play the Will/Dime backer in Muschamp’s scheme, but we need a starter-level Mike to play between the tackles. The Florida St backer will likely back up whoever starts at Mike, hence, why Uluave is more important in my opinion.

My one concern with Uluave is that he’s a Utah guy originally. There’s likely to be a comfort factor with Whittingham that might be tough to overcome. This is why we need to be sure we significantly outbid Michigan.

You are right, but even out bidding Michigan does not guarantee his signature. Look at what happened with the Michigan offensive  lineman.

Won't matter... he's not coming. Hate to say it...

Had this thought as well. Whittingham also specializes in linebacker development. Coached and played LB himself previously.

Correct, but the difference is that the OL wanted a reason to stay at Michigan. Uluave has no specific ties to that school. So money whipping is more likely to work with him. Not saying it will work, but gotta give him a lot to think about before choosing Michigan.

I haven’t seen anything to support this. Not saying you’re wrong—he very well might not come to Texas. But the reporting has been pretty quiet on him.

Has our roster players arrived back on campus yet? Need them there I think . To help with recruiting and holding on to what we have.

No. Players aren’t on campus except for those still meeting with the staff which is only a few

Another reason of many they should move portal back to spring . Hard to protect existing roster and put best foot forward with them not here.

I'm going back to look at his recruitment and see if Utah landed in his top 3. If so... I think our goose is cooked. I know the no contact tag isnt a guarantee.. but just like Cam... why'd you come here 1st? Was it because it's the place you were most excited and intrigued about being at, or is it to drive up the 💰? I think it was driving up the 💸 to get Michigan to up the ante and play for a guy you probably dreamed about playing for growing up... but that's just me. Who knows... hope he comes... but I'm not holding my breath. Seems like if he left without the John Hancock, he ain't coming back... just like I don't think Cam leaves the state of Alabama... sadly. Definitely hope I'm wrong on it all.
