We used to have a long hair dachshund. She lived to be 18. Beautiful dog!

My next dog will be a cane corso. Don't get me wrong I love my little chihuahua/pit mix, and yes she is as crazy as the combination suggests, but I want a bear of a dog now that I have the space.

He is a world champion napping buddy, and from my experience (grew up with a nippy short haired dachshund) long hairs are much more gentle. Our kids mess with him and he’s never bitten a soul. 🤞

I think you’re right. We do have a short hair female and she’s as laid back as they come never nipped at anyone but the other short haired we’ve had not so much.
