ElCafetero Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago Also I think my Holmes Huskies should move down to 5A like Jay did Quote
UTJefe Posted 19 hours ago Posted 19 hours ago District 23-6A spans a tremendous amount of distance for a Houston suburb. Almost 50 miles between Waller HS and Richmond George Ranch HS. Do any other districts which are suburbs of a major metroplex cover more ground? 1 Quote
Moderators Blake Munroe Posted 15 hours ago Moderators Posted 15 hours ago Comanche made off like a champ in Class 3A. Very pleased with where we landed. It’s crazy basketball is separate from volleyball this year. Baseball/softball won’t be announced until the spring as well. 1 Quote

It's also been 25 years since I paid attention to my town's sports so I don't know when that happened. 5A is weird - Valley schools in the same district as Corpus schools, San Antonio with Laredo, Killeen with College Stationary?? Those are some long drives. Quote

Frenship Memorial moving up to 5A with the main Lubbock schools while old Frenship going back down to 5A where they belong. DeSoto down to 5A... Both Frenship schools will likely be 6a again next realignment. That area is booming in terms of growth. 1 Quote

PNG will run the district IMO Quote

We have an upcoming set of nice freshmen offensive linemen that will move to varsity. Two years they could be pretty tough. Quote

They have my Gobblers playing all over the place. Makes no senses. Quote

Jbf19 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Wow. Waco Midway bumping up to 6A. in the same district with temple, Belton, the Killeen schools and Bryan. Back in my day (late 80's) that would be one hell of a tough district. Quote
Huskie1 Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago When the UIL went to 2 divisions in all classifications, the districts became much more spread out. Lots of districts with a lot of long road trips. I’m old and still like the non-division, A through 6A set up with 2 teams in the playoffs. Four teams from each district is ridiculous with losing teams in and first round blowouts the norm. Quote
