Unfortunately, this is true. The #1 freshmen class isn’t helping Texas win a National Championship and Vic has done nothing to improve this team via portal. This is criminal for Maddie’s senior year. She has absolutely no weapons.

Duke has the second class and still adding transfers. So yes you can’t depend on freshman to win a natty.

I’m thinking the Grace Prenter situation has prevented Vic from having portal visits like he normally would and I think there will be some portal additions soon.

The weird part is also the fit for her at SG considering that's where Tessa Johnson plays as well as 5-star recruit Jerzy Robinson. None of them have a PG skillset so one of them that expected to start and play heavy minutes will be coming off the bench.

Her transfer is the one I can't figure out. She always spoke highly of Coach and being at Texas. She started, had the green light, Coach praised her every game, even when she was off. Going to SC is a huge mistake. She will ride the pine. Tessa Johnson has her spot. She will get backup minutes. She's not a point guard. She will look back on this move and regret it. The other two I can reconcile.

Jersey is a huge ball hog. She wants the ball. I don't see her meshing at SC. She's similar to Aaliyah Chavez at OU. They don't want to play defense. They just want to score.

Jerzy will play some defense and she's got an alpha type personality that makes her feel like she doesn't need to take a backseat to anyone. 1 of those 3 is coming off the bench and I guess we'll see how that person responds to it.

I’m almost positive Zya Vann is committing to Texas soon. She started following lots of Texas assistant coaches and players following a visit. 
 

Zya probably would have had more points at Oklahoma if Chavez passed the ball more.

Are you keeping up with the portal: who’s left, who’s rumored to be entering from here on out, who would be a good fit for Texas? There is nothing better than what Texas lost in the portal. And right now there, is slim pickings.

Who says you can win big with freshmen?  The Fab five were pretty good and we have what is close to Fab Five coming in. Not sure if they can defend like Vic wants. Going to trust one of the best coaches in the game. HOOK em

No one says they can’t. But they’ll be going against veteran teams that are only getting better via portal: SC, LSU, Vanderbilt, even Kentucky. And nationally, USC will be a force and if people are keeping up with the portal, Big 10 teams are stacking up. 
 

There’s also a huge difference in one freshman making a difference versus five. This isn’t MBB. If Texas WBB wants to win a National Championship, they are not doing it with Freshmen, imo.

It’s been reported on several Texas sites Texas offered her an increase in NIL to stay and she said no.
