It's a really bad joke and you make the OTF experience worse by keeping it up; as someone who mostly lurks and doesn't comment often, that's my 2¢. Bobby talked about making this message board different than others based on the level of thoughtful discussion. Your Flood bit does the opposite. If you think flood is not good, fine, that's your right--I'm not telling you to not share your opinion ever and in the right moment. But spamming every thread with the same trollish comments about flood (as opposed to about gerry, which is funny 🤣) devalues the message board experience and makes me want to delete my account to just listen to YT.

Lol

It really isn’t that serious. It’s a bit and not malicious at all. Here so you don’t have to delete your account.

His tackle development is unquestionable IMO.  Banks, Goosby, Cam Williams, Christian Jones.

It's his center/guard development that has me concerned.

This has been stated multiple times.  But context is not applied.  I don’t have numbers now but have looked recently.

in the past 3 years, the NFL has drafted more tackles than G and Cs combined.  Two years ago, fewer than 5 Cs were drafted.  Tackles are converted to guards but not the other way around.   There are reasons for that.  One of those reasons lies in why tackles are drafted higher too.

With the ultimate question being who is developing interior guys?

Did he play? Nope. Out of how many recruits and maybe Goosby though he didn’t play?

“Even the year before showed it when a one legged cam, that couldn’t move at all, was left out there in crunch time because we had zero bench strength. He. Couldn’t. Move. And we didn’t have a single ol that was serviceable.

The Goosby reference was to this.  Now why we didn’t use him is the question.  It would seem we chose not to use him rather than no options.  I’m not sure that question was ever asked in the media.   Cam looked hurt.   Why didn’t Goosby play?

But I still cling to the fact that Nick Saban was upset about losing Flood........................Nick freaking Saban.

So despite what my eyes were telling me last year, I still hold out hope that Flood is going to get this thing right.

Just look our record last three years. Winning that many games with our schedule does not happen with no O Line. Look at where we were before he got here from 2010  until now. As you said, if he was good enough for Saban, he is good enough for me. Not saying all is perfect and we may have over valued our talent on campus last year but ended up playing pretty good last half of season.

Do you have a video of you breaking down film?

I often wonder if people are ever embarrassed with silly replies like this.

I guess you’re innately a first person expert on any opinion you espouse. Ever.  There are numerous resources that cover this as experts along with basic common sense, eye test, and football knowledge. I also provided some context of my perspective earlier but I’m not a d1 oline coach so it’s irrelevant.

Typically a coach’s decision, right? I don’t think we’re off here.

Too many short yardage situations last year required misdirection, direct snaps to RB, passing, etc.

Those gadget plays should go against our short yardage tendencies..........not be our short yardage tendency.

Consistently imposing our will 3rd or 4th and one would make this line complete.  It's what's been lacking for too long now.

Hopefully that gets fixed.

Right.  There have been multiple head scratches over the years.  That was one.  The disappearance of Neto another.  Yes, you referenced both of those.

Whether that rests solely with Flood, I have no idea.

Georgia ran tackle over, play fake on 4th and 1.  Why?

Youre living in an age that no longer exists.  It’s like college baseball fans that don’t understand why we give up home runs.

Defense has numbers.  Better depth, better coached depth across college.  Defenses are quicker, faster, shooting gaps and attacking.

Maybe at some point it’ll be overwhelming talent.  Look at Miami’s TD versus Indy.  Gadgety, misdirection of sorts.  Best Oline in college, right?

You didn’t cite any specific film or any specific sources. You deliberately attacked my opinion of Flood by quoting it and then responding to it. Again if you didn’t cite someone else breaking down film, I assumed it was based on your own eye. If so just add more context to prove your point, if you’re going to specifically quote and attack something I say.

Be blessed.

I think the problem isn't Flood's ability to develop it is his and Sarkisian's desire to recruit stiff large bodies that were already max'd out lacking the athleticism to execute the zone concepts Sarkisian likes to run in his offense. Hopefully, they have changed the way they are evaulating kids in HS and will take more guys that have room to grow physically that already possess above average to elite athleticism for the position. The other issue being their reluctance to use the portal to fix gaping holes due to their poor recruting strategy. It appears both of these issues are being addressed.
