Here for the Wins Posted 12 hours ago Posted 12 hours ago 2 minutes ago, Jeff Howe said: Schloss is expressing his frustration that college baseball's postseason doesn't mirror the regular season. If you really want the best teams in Omaha, he said, then you should play three three-game series to get to Omaha, just like you do in the regular season. They don’t want the best teams there. They never have. There are flaws around every corner of the selection process. Look a little deeper at St. Mary’s for example. Top 5 in team batting average. Their #1 starter is top 25 in terms of ERA. That’s ridiculous that the #1 overall gets that for their opener. Nice that we get a Holy Cross though. And I just watched a bit of Illinois State. Yet they’re #3 in Tallahassee. Finished 3rd in a conference/region that has never done much in the tourney. And I haven’t gotten to Schloss’s point that every conference plays 3 games series. Yet we do that differently here. 1 Quote

Assistant Regional Manager Posted 10 hours ago Posted 10 hours ago Crickets from some of the posters who threw in the towel because we encountered a few bumps in the road playing in the toughest league in America 🙂 I think Thomas Burns is the X-factor for this team. If he can continue providing what he did today, that will go a long way. 1 Quote

He said today, he felt better than he has in a long time. "I'm so happy that I'm pain-free," he said. I'm super pumped that the time off/rest took care of Ruger. Quote

Sell Mortimer Sell Posted 1 hour ago Posted 1 hour ago Super excited we're on to the Supers! Super concerned about our bullpen. I was thinking in both the Holy Cross game and the Tarleton St game that Schloss should have gotten Burns, Lefew, Crossland and Cozart a little work to knock the rust off, even just a batter or two each. Apparently Burns didn't need it, the others did. As pissed as I was at the time, I'm relieved we overcame numerous mental errors in the game, Mendoza losing track of the pitch count and stealing third remarkably worked in our favor for a much needed insurance run.
