Well said Jeff. The roster will be really good next year. If Jonah comes back we’ll have him at CF and our 4th OF will be coming off a freshman season where he hit .369. 2B needs to be the position of focus and I’m sure the staff has a plan. Odds are we bring in one more pitcher and that could be Paz or someone else they really like. We need at least one of the highly rated arms to make it to campus to put our pitching over the top. Look at what Weiner has done with freshman arms during his 2 years at Texas and pitching wins national championships. Georgia just proved that you can’t slug your way to a natty. IN SCHLOSS WE TRUST!! Hook em’!!🤘🏻🤘🏻

I hope you’re right.  Would be a pretty dope way for CDC to silence his critics as the first ever school to complete the triple crown in football, basketball, and baseball in the same school year.

I’ve got concerns about the 2027 roster, but I believe the current staff can get the most out of what they’ve got, which would be enough to get back to Omaha. — Jeff

Here is the thing though. With Gus and Augie Texas was not just happy to be at Omaha. They fully expected to win it.

Schloss just finished year 2. Augie got to Texas in 1997. Won 1st title in 2002. Gus got to Texas in 1968. Won his first in 1975. Jeff didn't say getting there was enough. He said they have enough talent to get back. Anyone outside Norman expect ou to win this year? Once in Omaha,  all bets are off.

Gus won it twice in 29 years.

Augie won it twice in 20 years.

Both in a completely different era of baseball where it was EASIER to win because there were not as many competitive teams or programs who cared about baseball. 

So it’s great they fully expected to win it every year. They didn’t do in 45 of the 49 years.

Insinuating Texas doesn’t want or expect to win every time they step in the field is just some form of message board fan fiction.

Was easier to get to Omaha back in the day. Was not easier to win it . Fewer elite programs but Okie Lite, Miss State, Miami , Clemson, and who ever came from West Coast ,  Fullerton, USC etc were tough outs.

@Blake Munroe Any updates on 2B or pitchers? Anything new on Paz? I assume he’s leaning ATM but he could be special in Austin with some development. Do you know if we still are pursuing another OF after missing on Laya?? I would assume 2B is the biggest team need at this time. Thanks!! Hook em’!!🤘🏻🤘🏻

That's true, but I think that user was saying out of the big three men's sports (football, basketball, and baseball), baseball has been the most successful of the three historically.
