I myself have been critical of her and didn't think she was a legit #2, but against Tennessee and Tech at the WCWS, she was lights out and gave the team a chance to win and that's all you can ask. And she did it with a smile on her face. Because of her outings, Kavan was able to get the needed rest to do what she does best. Totally agree. Citlaly went head to head against Canady and won in the deciding WCWS game. That’s no small feat. 3 Quote

Jordy Bahl Frahm likely took less money to go home to Nebraska and build that program (her home state) into a contender. To me that's more worthy. Karlyn Pickens was interviewed and said she was offered a ton more money (likely by Tech) but stayed at Tennessee because it means something to try to finish what you started. Reese Atwood was contacted by Tech last year during the WCWS and said no thanks I'm staying at Texas. Teagan Kavan has interviewers pull in who she believes should be recognized that usually do not get the spotlight (Altemeier). Those types of actions have more impact imo. This. Kavan, Kennedy and all the pitchers mentioned here are a big part of the rise in popularity of the sport. Kennedy got paid the most and yes she is dominant, but so are all the pitchers mentioned in your post. Kennedy is getting presented as the Caitlin Clark of softball and that she is not. She is part of the reason, but she is not the tip of the spear in that regard. 3 Quote

Gotta side with the reaction‑time guy here. The whole point was how fast it gets on you, not how many inches it has to wiggle on the way in. A 70 from 43’ is still on the hitter quicker than a 92 from 60’6”. The ball being bigger doesn’t magically slow time down, and ‘less distance to curve’ doesn’t make it easier to hit - unless we’re just making up physics now.” 1 Quote

No one said she was the tip of the spear and I didn’t even say she was the best Kavan definitely showed how it’s done 2 years in a row. I said tip of the hat to Canady in a show of respect and said she did help put eyes on sport for these women. There’s a difference in saying she did well versus saying she did “nothing for the sport” when being one of top pitchers of her time isn’t a small feat. She couldn’t beat us, we got to prove that twice when it mattered but no need to sit here and bash her was my point. Quote

She obviously contributed, but so did many others. She benefited financially from Cody and friends trying to buy their spot as a top tier athelic department and good for her. To say that she took a bunch of nobodies to the title game is a stretch considering the tampering involved and the All-Americans they paid for and put around her. Anyway, Horns are back to back champs and that's what's important 🤘 2 Quote

Just need to find a #2 pitcher and a catcher I believe we got a really pitcher transfer from Oklahoma that had to sit out a year. We should. We should be good with pitching. Quote

Jedi Master Bevo Posted 39 minutes ago Posted 39 minutes ago So Texas softball went through the little 12s best 3 teams to a title. ASU, Nebraska and Tech. It's safe to say they'd won that conference with their 2s and 3s. 🤘🥎 1 Quote
