I have to say that Riley Pettijohn and Devin Sanchez are as good as advertised.  They looked like vets out there and not freshman.  It would be great if they ended up at Texas via the portal.

Pettijohn got away. May be wrong but it seems Sanchez was ever really that interested.

Unless they get homesick, very unlikely that happens.  Ohio State has great NIL too, and they will do what they can to retain them for three seasons before they go pro.

Pettijohn was definitely mishandled on his visit to Texas (if reports/rumors are accurate). That one got away.

Sanchez was never really interested in being a Longhorn. Hard to love someone if they don't love you back. He's gonna be a top-end draft pick.

Neither are freshman. Both sophomores.

I read that Pettijohn’s mom is an alumnus of OSU. I believe it said she was a top end athlete for them. May have said that dad went there also. But you’re correct, he had no interest in coming here and was also way going there.

I did take some satisfaction that Sanchez was guarding wingo on arch’s first td and bishop on the pass interference call (soft). 
 

and masunas got a nice block on pettijohn on the goal line.

I was impressed with OSU's freshman DE who played the 0/1 technique on passing downs. He gave Roberson fits on all five of his 5 snaps at NT. I think his name was Wilder, and he wore #34. His quickness and strength inside reminded me of our DT from a few years ago, who now stars for the Super Bowl Champs, the Seattle Seahawks.

they had that graphic of all the texas kids on OSU when we were down.  I also was miffed when they were talking about getting their freshman playing time when they were up by so much.  

made it that much sweeter when we came back!

He’s terrific! High NFL draft upside with him for sure. Best natural pass rusher in their program

Is he primarily a DE, or are they looking to bulk him up and move him to that 0/1 or 2/3 technique?

He's gonna end up playing most of his college career between 3-5 tech as a DE imo but he's a freak physically and they want to play him when they can. His length on the interior is a problem and he overwhelmed Connor Robertson and pressured Arch out of the backfield on one of Texas' 4th down conversions iirc. Might've been one of the 3rd down conversions.

Nice symmetry - the Texas kicker is an Ohio native who made the winning kick while the Ohio State kicker is a Texas native who missed the likely game-clinching 45 yard FG.
