I'd like to welcome our first-ever class of OTF Interns to the OTF community.

They are:

- Hayden Carner

- Jordan Gorewitz

- Kumar Kharod

- Carson McCay

- Chris Mickelson

- Gavin Resendez

- Payton Sherman

- Justin Teall

One of my goals in opening up our OTF office on West Campus was to create a space where students could learn the digital publishing business from the ground up while following something I know many of them love -- Texas Football. The idea is to give them real-world experience and have them help make OTF a better product and a better community for all of you.

We had our kickoff meeting with the Interns last Monday and they are already contributing in a bunch of ways, from video footage of last night's softball game, to graphic support of the YouTube show, to marketing ideas, to a few message board posts, and more.

This university gave a lot to me as an undergrad. It helped me give my family a good life. My goal is to help some of these guys in a similar fashion.

Please join me in welcoming them to the community!

Interns, if you're reading this, drop a quick reply with your major and your favorite memory so far as a Longhorn.

Hook'Em!

Is there an age limit for interns? Lol

Sadly Joe Z didn't make the cut

Welcome to the craziness!

Hook em 🤘🏻

[General Grant]

Can any of you coach special teams?

[Califashorn75]

Great job OTF! Task #1: Assign a few to cover women's hoops!! Thank you.

Welcome interns...there's a Starbucks on San Antonio at 24th AND another one on 15th (Sark has been spotted here).

But if you're into local then there's Jo's on 24th and Rio Grande.

Breakfast tacos for the staff is always a pro move, Kesos on MLK.

Good luck. @Bobby Burton is a tough grader 😉

Welcome all. Like I told Jordan and Hank when they first came on, don't let the Portal House of Horrors scare you away when portal season opens up.

Awesome work @Bobby Burton! You are definitely a great human being for giving these guys this opportunity!

Yes it was. Those threads will forever go down in infamy. Instant classics!

[Josh Marion]

Welcome all! 🔥🤘

Thanks  Bobby for giving back and providing a path to learn the trade and for providing the platform to support it.

In 1978 there was very little in the way of intern opportunity for hands on learning however KVUE sports brought in three of us from UT communications school. Together we were part of the first ever Friday Night Fever scoreboard and highlight show that fall. It was fun!! KVUE provided the avenue for me to make an audition tape and get my first job in TV sports. Later that fall, it opened the door to work directly with ABC Sports network on college football broadcasts as a production assistant. While I didn't make it a lifelong deal it opened up many other doors to enjoy and be around college sports at UT, eventually becoming the PA voice of Longhorn Men's tennis for 17 years.

Enjoy the ride everyone, and learn all you can! These will we the days of your life.
