Fight on Texas Sideline?

Another forum mentioned what appeared to be a fight on the sideline toward the end of the ULM game but the only details were that it may have been Sydir Mitchell and someone else.  Anyone able to confirm or provide details?

Fighting with your teammates is not a sign of stepping up.

Perhaps stepping up is not the best phrase, but it may show some signs of life in him.  I don’t recall playing on many sports teams where there weren’t some occasional flare ups.  However, that is being optimistic and he may just be frustrated and waiting for the portal deadline.

I see what you’re saying. Apparently his effort has been called into question. Somebody on the team could’ve called him out and he didn’t respond in the best of way. I have no idea. He’s too talented to let it all go to waste.

Mitchell has only appeared in two of the first four games, so he must be frustrated at not getting in even during 40 point blowouts.  Hopefully he gets it together, gets in game shape and starts getting reps, but yeah, if he's arguing with coaches or teammates it's hard to see him here long term.

Last night was the only game he hasn't appeared in.  He played against Michigan, but it was omitted in the participation statistics.

So was supposedly escorted from the field but the You Tube show wouldn't say more on it as we speak. Sure more will come out without a doubt. Lot of guys that work this market live for this drama to report on. Hopefully whatever it  is dealt with and we move on with or without .

Well, it would be nice to get more information.  I hate to see discipline problems if that is what it is.  I wouldn't mind if it was just a player flare up, but the team does not need sideline antics.  The team seems to be very cohesive overall, but we all know that Sydir has not been living up to expectations for some reason.

When the coaching staff brings in 3 portal players at your position, the writing is on the wall. When true freshmen Alex January has passed you on the depth chart, the writing is on the wall.

usually when players start to read that writing they get mad and blame anyone but themselves and lash out.

tale as old as time.

Interesting, but I wonder why something like that hasn't happened with the returning young wide receiver corps since they tend to be more like prima donnas than other players.  Thank you Lord.

Cook, Moore, Niblett have all scored TDs this season so that’s probably helping keeping them engaged. Big difference in playing time.

FWIW Chip Brown on a podcast said Mitchell was asked to go in the game. He was mad he didn't go in earlier and evidently refused. Not necessarily a fight,  it got heated with a teammate etc. Was escorted to the locker room.

Don't know the outcome or what consequences he may face. Was pointed out he is having a really tough time since he got here. Again take it FWIW. Hopefully it gets resolved one way or another and don't wish any bad on him at all. He will learn and regroup, or move on . We will see.
