Things more likely than Arizona State beating Texas thread (I'll start)

I think their OL is actually pretty good, but I don't think it has been tested like it will be by Texas.  Still, I expect them to open stronger than Texas would like to see - more holes for their RB and more time for their QB - at least in the first quarter.

I could be wrong.  In fact, I would love to be wrong.  I am judging from the two games I have seen them play on TV, not from any inside or expert knowledge.

Their LG has issues IMO

I think they are okay ... not as talented/good as Clemson

The talent gap is just so wide, I mean ASU was picked to finish last in the mighty Big 12 in the preseason.

I live near Tempe and it's a big deal whenever they sign even a 4* recruit. Here are the numbers for the current rosters (from the 247 College Football Team Talent Composite)

11 5*, 50 4*, 19 3* Texas (ranked # 4 in raw talent behind Bama, Georgia, Ohio State)

0 5*, 18 4*, 61 3* Arizona State (ranked # 30 just behind UCLA)

Clemson, the team we just beat by 14, had the fifth most talent (7 5*, 45 4*)

Things more likely to happen?

The woman at the gym who looks like a cross between a young Gisele Bundchen and a younger Emilia Clarke will ask me out for a protein smoothie after my workout today (let an old man dream will ya).

This stuff is fun during the regular season but that team did earn its way into the spot for the BIG XII so let’s not discredit them for that. As we’re in a one and done situation and not facing the shitters from OU and a&m, I’d say let’s not jinx ourselves. Superstitions are there for a reason. I used the same ritual before every race for 20 years.
