I’m somewhat concerned with that. But not overwhelmingly so. Texas is not being hyper aggressive for a reason.

The last game highlighted something to me.  Moore is very fast.

Az St's QB was a fabulous athlete who could really run.  He was running away from most of our guys- but not Moore.  Moore actually ran him down from behind one time.

I think Jackson is a special player and he, just like Simmons, is ready the moment he hits the 40 acres.

Maybe, but probably more to replace a Sorrell and shore up the question mark that we have regarding Vasek’s health.

Moore also tackles with great balance. We missed a ton of tackles because we left our feet trying to tackle Houdini. That one play when more spun the qb around and dropped him was impressive. Others were missing. 
 

Howard won’t juke but we better wrap up that dude. He’ll ignore arm tackles. Leave it to the ghost of purple wizard to show up…😉

I think I’ll trust PK on the decision to bring this guy in.

I wouldn't call Moore fast, but he was rushing with more discipline than the others so he benefitted from Leavitt's greased up deaf guy impression a couple of times

Moore has really turned it on in the latter half of the season. Not that he wasn’t good in the first half but the second half guy has been so disruptive.  Will be missed when he is gone.

Vasek has been battling injuries since he has got to campus. 

Unless something drastically changes I expect Moore back.

Exactly.  I’d be more worried about Leavitt if he can figure out how to accurately pass the football downfield.  Until then, he’s an escape artist with little impact against better defenses.  And he’ll be without Skattebo next season to occupy opposing DC’s minds.

Does Texas pursuing another DE suggest that they don’t think Burke can totally replace what Sorrell does? Or does it just mean that they are concerned about experienced DE depth in general?

I really hope you’re right about moore coming back because he’s really started to come on mid season as far as getting the quarterback to the ground. A sophomore colin simmons and a senior year trey moore could be a terrifying pass rush combination going into year two in the SEC.

I hope he is, but I'd bet he needs a little time to put on a little mass and to learn the d as well.  Simmons is a rare gem like Banks that is next level ready right of the bat.  Time will tell.
