If it was well thought out and methodical plan, you push hard for multiple young high potential players for mix of defense and offense power. You send him out East so he doesn’t shove it back in your face every year. You build for the long term not take a player at his peak with only declining years ahead. I’m less upset about losing Doncic (I’m sure the reasons were valid on some level re: conditioning, lack of defense, overall attitude / commitment) but what the Mavs got back in return is embarrassing. Remember you have a veteran head coach who won a chip as a coach and a player and is a hall of famer. Think he wants to try n teach some young kid how to play n waste Kyrie? I can't remember an all time great player that couldn't be counted on to stay in shape by the time he was 25. Shaq had problems in his early 30s, but not when he was 25. I do live in the DFW area, and only know what read in blogs With that said, I think can understand why they traded him for couple reasons. He is never in basketball shape. He try’s playing his way into shape snd he gets hurt because of it. Misses way too many games. He has a crybaby relationship with NBA referees. I know the league is full of cry babies. Just my opinion on why NBA did not stop the trade, LeBron needs one more championship before he retires. 2 Quote

Got lucky and made a Finals run. The fanbase loved Iverson because of the highlight crossover and tremendous athleticism. Problem was, he was a terrible leader because he didn't like to "practice" and was therefore inconsistent most of the time in clutch situations. Meanwhile, Kobe (who was drafted the same year 1996) loved to "practice" and won three straight titles while Iverson couldn't decide to work hard enough. Kobe had Shaq. True, but he worked; and he worked his way to titles without Shaq. History proves you better drop the putzes who don't want to work. The Lakers are the idiots here. Quote
