NIL in college basketball vs college football are two different animals. A guy I follow once said NIL (football) means your main competitor most of the time is the dumbest one, the program willing to outspend for a single blue chip who becomes one of 22. Best example was TT buying Micah Hudson, when they could have allocated the same money for a handful of players to transform for their terrible defense. Just bad NIL management.

Basketball NIL goes to a player(s) who’s going to be one of 5 and can make a significant impact on your season. And theres probably 120 teams that can afford to pay one guy top dollar. The top 30 programs have more competition now than ever to secure the commitment of the best players. 

We are in the best basketball conference in the country. If we want to win a lot then we have to pay.

Makes me wish I'd gone to Arkansas or LSU instead of Texas. Maybe then I'd know the difference between the "court of public opinion" and real evidence.

I wouldn’t call it likely based on last check, but maybe file it away as a possibility. Considering how hard it is getting to compete outside of the Power conferences, I think it would be shortsighted to dismiss the notion.

I like the passion and hunger Miller appears to have. A coach that wants to prove something with resources is a good thing for our program. 
 

Look forward to seeing how he fills his staff out and who we get in the portal.

One college coach told me yesterday they don’t think it happens …

I believe he will have one assistant hire, and will have to make decision on GM

Other than that, majority of staff will come with him

Any chance that we keep Haith on staff? He is our best recruiter and by far our most accomplished assistant. He seemed to always be engaged and keeping guys accountable on the TV copy. I hope we retain him.

I don't. He has enough staff coming with him that the portal conversations/vetting won't be a problem.

I know Ogden and Haith will meet with Miller later this week. What comes of it, I don't have the answer

I think for the GM role he should target a front office type guy instead of a recruiting type guy for the specific role.

His son is probably coming with him.  Maybe he keeps Ogden too idk, but I would imagine his son is coming
