Also... after seeing Sheduer not take school NIL to allow the staff to bring in more players, and knowing Arch is the only other college player that can broker multiple real advertising deals with major companies, would it be ridiculous to think Arch and the Manning family may forgo the NIL and allow us to go out and get some of these guys? He's the 1% of players that could, IMO... thoughts?

If these kids have agents, why aren't the high schools already securing contracts without colleges getting involved. Isn't that the job of a agent. So, the agents that represent the high schools are lazy, they take a cut without fully doing their job. Wow!

Seems that Arch may be able to “influence “ any ends, receivers and backs he wants and you know he is a draw for them as well. Don’t see how they get Arch to give money up for defense

BINGO!!! If its truly NIL... then we should start to see high school kids fully market themselves thru social media as they come up and in doing so, should set the table for any agent worth a damn to go out and get that kid in front of whoever they need to to get the deals. At that point, the universities NIL is just icing on the cake, imo. I feel like parents really need to lock in with their kids more and understand this landscape, as well. That way, they aren't pimping the kids out for a bag and its a bad situation... now and after college and the NFL has come and gone.

They already are in some instances. But, as with every business, some do it more successfully than others, some are more valuable than others, etc.

Arch.. and any other qb, I would hope, understands that it takes an entire team to win a Natty... but I get it. Many of us who grew up without those means would always see it that way. Arch and Sheduer grew up differently... and again, they truly have NIL power. We've seen a multitude of deals for both and no shortage of advertisers ready to do business with them as college players, respectively. It's just an interesting thing to ponder, but I don't expect it from anyone. No judgements...either way.

I could be wrong but I don't think Arch is taking a huge payout from Texas especially with the knowledge of how much he can make outside of the Texas collectives in legit NIL deals like Red Bull, Panini, Canes, EA Sports, etc.

Thats partly on impact of those positions and partly on what we currently have on the roster and the types of players Sark has been able to get in the portal.

There really are only two and one is already set with Cooper.

Therefore, with our 5* edge, Wesley, already in the fold, one HAS to go with LB/Atkinson.  We need to replace the defensive Field General.  Not really a choice.

Last cycle, we had to have a DL "send the house" guy.  (We just happened to be able to get quite a bit more than that with the #1 class).  

The real question is next year......What are the two positions that will be "send the house" for 2027 (excluding QB)?

I say.....interior DL and another LB or CB/S.  This assumes we pick up one more quality OT in the 2026 cycle.  Thoughts?

Every year.. no... but some guys you break the rules for..... Cooper and Atkinson are 2 of those kinda guys
